Lorna Tate has been established for over 10 years as a designer /dressmaker working closely with customers to create the dress of their dreams!

I have been working as a wedding dress designer and wedding dressmaker for over 10 years now.

I started to sew and draw designs at a very young age and have designed and made special occasion wear and wedding dresses for others for many years.

When the opportunity came to start my own business I decided to specialise in making bridal wear, and took a number of advanced sewing courses in bridal wear techniques and corsetry.

I have a special interest and take inspiration from fashion and dance - how a dress will move with the wearer is really important when I am working on a design.

I have studied the construction of clothing through the ages as well as modern styles and techniques and this gives lots of inspiration and ideas on how to achieve particular effects.

I love working with fabric - especially natural fibres like silk - and experimenting to discover the best combination of fabrics to arrive at the desired result for each dress and each bride

I really enjoy my meetings with brides, understanding and transforming plans and ideas into a wedding gown which will look and feel wonderful, fit perfectly, and be unique to the bride and her personal style. I am committed to providing the very best attention and high quality gown to every client who comes to me, no matter what their budget may be.

I meet brides and work from home where I have a large well equipped workroom /studio and a quiet, relaxed & private fitting room. Evening or weekend appointments are easily arranged and friends and family are always welcome to come along.
