These stunning 'Imperial Red' Sopra No2 from Focal arrived today šŸ˜Š.
They join last night's star attractions, K3 from Proac Loudspeakers - England, FYNE AUDIO's remarkable F702s and KEF's Reference 5 in an enviable line-up of outstanding loudspeakers here at Loud & Clear.
We're spoilt for choice, you will be too. Pop in to hear how they sound or call us/message to arrange a demo.

Wow! Congratulations to SeƔn Kerr Photography today on winning the Landscape category in this year's The Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year awards with 'White Islands'. Remember, SeƔn's 'The Wonder of Harris' pop-up exhibition is in store now, until the end of March: https://bit.ly/2EHQ1tH

We're thrilled to have Proac Loudspeakers - England's new K3 loudspeaker in store on Thursday 14th March for an open evening of pure musical enjoyment.
The K Series is the pinnacle of British manufacturer ProAcā€™s loudspeaker development. Although the 'entry-level' in the range and the first under Ā£10,000, K3 is a true high-end speaker, featuring:
- 2 x 6.5 inch Kevlar bass drivers each fitted with a phase plug to improve detail and dispersion... - drivers seamlessly mated via a high quality crossover with ProAcā€™s proven ribbon tweeter, centrally positioned to line up c. ear level - High 89dB sensitivity and 4 Ohm impedance so easy to drive - Floor porting vent allows easy placement and the bass to breathe. - attractive, slim proportions and available in a range of 8 high quality veneers.
Well worth popping in for a listen. Weā€™ll be joined by David from ProAc on the eveningā€¦ to answer any questions we canā€™t!
And if Ā£10k is a bit of a stretch, we'll also have ProAc's DT8 speakers playing in the 'wee' dem room - a fifth of the price but certainly not the performance, these simply sparkle šŸ˜Š.

Our intrepid Hi-fi exhibition explorer and veteran, Mr. Allan Boyd, is safely back from Bristol Sound and Vision 2019 with some nice snaps and musical food for thought. Always good to keep our ears to the ground.
Some very interesting new products on the radar from the likes of:
Roksan - 20 Plus turntable... Proac Loudspeakers - England - K6 & K3 (shop launch Thurs 14th March) FYNE AUDIO - 702 floorstanders - on dem now Totem Acoustic - new Kin Play powered bookshelf speakers - on dem now Linn Selekt - on dem now as well as Dynaudio, Focal, Innuos and Naim Audio
We can confirm many of these are already on dem here; but unfortunately cannot confirm how many headphone cakes Allan consumed šŸ˜‰.

Glasgow Orchestral Society's Spring Concert - well worth a visit, tickets still available:
Stephen Broad conduct's this performance of Mahler's Symphony No 1 and former RSNO Principal Clarinetist John Cushing is joined by Josef Pacewicz for Krommer's Concerto No 1 for 2 Clarinets - a rare opportunity to hear this unusual work.

User

Sad news that Talk Talk lead singer, Mark Hollis, has passed away.
Talk Talk have always been a favourite with us. The LP this is taken from, Colour of Spring, is exceptional.

Weā€™ve been expecting the new Data Conversion Systems Ltd (dCS) BartĆ³k DAC for a few months now - we saw a sneaky peak at Munich High End last year.
This is a seriously impressive streaming DAC that can have a headphone amp built-in - like our demo model.
dCS are the world-leading exponents of digital replay, pop in and hear the difference for yourself.
... The standard model retails at Ā£9,999, with headphone amp model at Ā£11,999.
Keep your eyes peeled for an open night weā€™ll be doing with the BartĆ³k in the near future.

My first experience of Loud & Clear came a couple of years ago, when I wandered in off the street enquiring about a new set of headphones.

Within 5 minutes I found myself sitting in their basement demo room, having been handed a mug of coffee and an iPad to navigate the hi-res albums on their server and left to listen to one of the most exquisite systems I have heard in my life (Moon electronics matched up with the towering KEF Blades).

Why? Had I expressed an ambition to invest high-five figures into a new hi-fi that day? No. Quite simply put, it was the passion and enthusiasm of George Clegg to showcase their finest products that led me to their demo room.

I walked away that day without a purchase; the headphone options on offer didn't tick the notional boxes I had; but stellar first impressions of Loud & Clear had been made.

In the past couple of months, I have become one of Loud & Clear's customers and the knowledge and service experienced in all dealings with both George and his wife, Barbara have done nothing but reinforce my confidence in Loud & Clear to deliver-up phenomenal quality, allied to service that goes way above and beyond the 'norm'.

Tonight, as I type this review, I am listening to hi-res music streamed through a Moon Neo MiND and Moon 300D DAC; although I could just as easily be listening to my burgeoning vinyl collection on my Rega RP6; all recently acquired from Loud & Clear. What an absolute delight it is to appreciate music on a higher plane: all down to the quality and clarity of the equipment sold by these guys.

Don't expect to encounter obsequious staff wearing uniform shirts and ties; bowing and scraping in an environment bedecked to resemble a Mercedes Benz showroom. Jeans, t-shirts and sweatshirts are the order of the day here. Personally, I wouldn't want it any other way. Loud & Clear shine brightly as paragons of great service delivered swiftly, with levels of knowledge and clear communication that set them apart from their notional peers.

Thank you to George, Barbara and the rest of the guys at Loud & Clear. Highly-recommended 5 Star Superstars!

Long time customer of loud & clear, just received my Supernait amp back from naim for service, customer service is excellent, what surprises me is the knowledge of vintage equipment and range of used equipment available, for someone on a budget or hiend highly recommended, always made to feel welcome, starting to feel like my second home! many thanks to all staff :)

Iā€™ve been meaning to phone for a week or so with my thanksā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦. but keep playing records šŸ˜Š

A very big thanks to George & Ian for service above and beyond the call of duty, the home visits were very much appreciated I was beginning to think I had a hearing issue.

Problem resolved and I think the new cartridge is well & truly ā€œburnt inā€

Thanks again guys, could not be happier ( well I would be if I could persuade the missus to let me have a Kore )
