Lovecrumbs

A bit less attitude from the staff and more consistently excellent food would do a great deal to improve my opinion of lovecrumbs -- though I doubt my 2 star review is going to dissuade any hipster locals or tourists from this decidedly trendy cafe. It's perfectly adequate, and has all the required interior decorating touches to ensure its place in the pantheon of Edinburgh cool. Alas lovecrumbs suffers from being far too loud and self-conscious, with a welcome that varies from fairly positive to positively disdainful. I would love to love it, I really would, but despite working 100 metres away, I only go there when a friend suggests it as a meeting spot. If you are only looking for cakes and coffee, Tasty Buns a few doors down is a much more reliable choice.

Nice space with lots of seating. Got a piece of cake, flavor was really good but texture was a little dry. Visited later in the day so it's possible the cake was just out for a while.

It's one of the most popular cakes cafe in the city! if you love cakes... don't miss it! All products are handmade and they have always new delicious ones. There're some books for guests.

Wonderful service and the staff are very kind. Cake was splendid also they do my fav Bakewell Tart, crisp base and great jam. If I could I would rate them higher!

My tea came with plenty of leaves an a thermos of hot water to top it up and re-use the teabag, neat idea. Makes my tea great value for money, and tasted just as good from first to last sip.

Great home-made eats. Nice relaxed atmosphere, often busy though! Can be tricky to find a place to purchase and chill.
Worth a visit though, especially if you've got a sweet tooth.

Nice place with a good selection of cakes. The coffee is good but nothing special. The place is small and over crowded.

They are really BAD with orders. For my birthday I requested a cake there and paid a lot of money for it. Unfortunately, on my birthday the cake was not there. They made a mistake and they didn't even bake it. I had to pay for one of the cake available in the café. I was so disappointed and they even wanted me to pay the full price for the wrong cake.

Hipster central. Great cakes, good coffee. Sat at a piano & drank handmade lemonade from a jar. Flat White, lemonade & a slice of cake £9.10.

Nice coffee shop with a wide selection of cakes and hot drinks. Friendly staff and friendly atmosphere. They even provide extra hot water for your tea
