Lovingly Made By. . . specialises in unique, hand made and reloved items for you and your home. We sell at local Pop-up events, through independent retail outlets and online at our Etsy shop. Taking pride in hand making our products and aim to offer something different. We can personalise some of our products for you on request and take commissions for upcycling furniture.
Through our workshops we want to inspire you to create something unique for yourself and learn new skills to use at home. Please feel free to have a look at our page and follow us for upcoming workshops offered at local venues.

Missed out on attending my Upholstery course open day today at Cornhill courses. 2nd year completed and achieved Credit for these chairs and written project. Looking forward to 3rd year starting in September. Some of my own projects to get done over the summer now 🔨✂️
Second exam chair finished for year 2 of my Upholstery Diploma. This ones a 1960s Parker Knoll and brought up-to-date with Warwick wool fabric and light wood finish. Pretty chuffed with this one 😄

Two lovely bedroom chairs in this week as a commission. Ready to be stripped this afternoon while the sun is shining and to be re-upholstered in purple and green fabrics.
I think I've found the right fabric to finish upholstering this lovely little chair. Show wood painted with Annie Sloan graphite and going to be right on trend with colour as matches Pantone's 'colour of the year' Living Coral. Gorgeousness in a chair!
Days 9 & 10: #marchmeetthemaker
The Name - Lovingly Made By... originated from me wanting to make and sell my own work as well as other people's. I've always loved visiting craft/gift shops and thought some day I would like a place to sell and make craft for myself and others. I think this comes from my childhood helping my mum sell her ceramics at craft fairs even though I complained at the time it's definitely stuck with me.
Me - I'm a wife and mum of two teenagers. In my spare time I enjoy yoga, going for long walks with my dog and visiting coffee shops.....and eating cake 😂. This is a photo of me enjoying our relaxing summer holiday last year but I do enjoy a city break when I can soak up a bit of culture when allowed by the family!
Days 6,7 & 8: #marchmeetthemaker
Lovingly Made By... is very part-time for me. After working for the NHS for 3 days, studying for my Upholstery qualification 1 day a week and looking after the family, it doesn't leave much time. I tend to make things in the evenings or weekends. When I have commissions or events to prepare for things can feel pretty full on. Good job I enjoy it!
Less glamorous side of things is definitely the battering my hands get with Upholstery. Never been... one for having glamorous nails but getting tacks in your fingers is not pleasant 😩

Day 3&4: Flatlay and tools & materials combined
The tools and materials I use are quite varied. Using drift wood found on the beach within frames to an upholstery webbing stretcher when re-webbing a chair. Love the variety shown within this photo!
Day 2 - How I started

Lovingly Made By...started with me sewing and crafting as a hobby and then inspired by my mum, Ann Brooks, who has been a potter for 50+ years we combined our skills to make unique gifts and soft furnishings with ceramic shapes and buttons.
I'm not very good at posting regularly but going to try and keep this going for March. This is my favourite item to make, simple but effective with ceramic love hearts against the dark frame, and probably what Lovingly Made By is best known for. #marchmeetthemaker
Next project stripped back and ready for some Fusion Mineral paint to frame. Thinking bright tropical or retro fabric. Decisions!!
