Went to Lucas today for the first time and was not disappointed. The place looks amazing the staff were really friendly and the food was delicious. I am a very fussy eater as my husband is a chef and rarely enjoy eating out but my meal today was faultless and the portion sizes are very generous which is rare. The waiter also accommodated my request and allowed me to mix up the ingredients in my starter which i thought was great. The tiramisu is excellent as is the ice cream. will most certainly be visiting again and very soon.

User

Went out for a meal last night with some of the family to a new restaurant "Lucas Kitchen" in Dunfermline well impressed service and meal was tremendous as was the price....would recommend a visit if you haven't been......

User

We had dinner last night and the food was absolutely faultless!! Steak was cooked to perfection with such generous portion sizes. Staff friendly and welcoming even though the place was packed you where no forgotten about. Ice cream for desert was delicious too! We will 100% be back! I would recommend pre booking a table and not just walking in to save disappointment or having to hand the table back quickly.

Thank you.

User

Since moving to Dunfermline several years ago I felt the only thing it lacked was s good pizzeria. Thanks to Lucas, this issue has been rectified.

I would like to see them improve the quality and range of the pizza toppings on offer to include things like goats cheese, chorizo, proper seafood etc.. but it’s a very positive start and the St Luca’s ice creams are fantastic.

Hopefully they will soon be delivering their tasty pizzas for those winter evenings that I don’t feel like walking to the restaurant.

Both the wife and kids agree that we will be back soon.

User

Lovely meal and friendly staff.

We went on a Friday night at 19:30 and it was really busy. We waited 25 mins on our starter but it was worth the wait. Main courses and deserts followed quickly afterwards. Drinks were also topped up when needed.

Great menu with lots of choices at very reasonable prices. We will be back!

User

It was my first visit to Lucas Kitchen yesterday and I thoroughly enjoyed this new, vibrant place. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good. I would recommend this place as it is really first class.

User

I took my two kids there on a very busy Sunday afternoon (5.30pm). Despite no booking and the main restaurant at full capacity, the staff couldn't have been nicer. They offered us a high table in the ice-cream parlour and gave us table service there.

Service was fast, friendly and efficient and the food was delicious and keenly priced. The children's menu served big potions and there was a good range. I had a terrific steak burger with peppercorn sauce - a bargain at £11.

Dunfermline needed a fantastic family-friendly restaurant like this that isn't a chain but knows how to do great food at a reasonable cost.

We will be back!

User

Had the lunch time special, 2 courses for £9.95. Great value for money and the food was amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I never went when it was the mill and grill as the menu was very limited. I am a vegetarian and there wasn’t many options for me before. The new menu since the change is fantastic. There is loads of things for me to choose from now. I visited the ice cream parlour with my son a couple of weeks ago too. The ice cream was delicious. I’ll definitely be back

User

Food was amazing. Service was poor... lacking in staff members. We were in at 6.30pm and we didn't get out til after 8pm. Took ages for the dessert menu then to take our order. One staff member serviced the table beside us and saw our empty plates and walked away. Its still early days but more staff would benefit big time

User

First visit since the awful mill & grill fab food attentive staff we were a walk in and was v v busy seated in ice cream parlour we were assured be moved as soon as table was ready and we were moved to restaurant within 10 mins given how busy it is think that speaks for its self in regards to quality i stopped going as mill & grill was awful but well done lucas kitchen stunning decor simple modern and fab food plenty choice and i think having parlour and pizza take away an added bonus we will be back using it regular just like we use to and who knows maybe a pizza here and their to

User

First time since Luca's Kitchen opened...straight into #1 spot for favourite West Fife restaurants.

Edinburgh-style decor, like properly nice to look at and sit in.

Service from all staff was warm and welcoming, you can tell they care about your visit...rare thing these days.

From starters through to dessert then food was of fantastic quality.

Starter was bruschetta, beautifully toasted fresh wedge of bread drizzled with garlic and balsamic vinegar coupled with finely sliced vine tomatoes and some salad.

Main was a Ham and Pineapple pizza. High quality home-made base was teamed with freshly prepared tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, succulent fresh slices of ham and chopped pineapple.

Last time I tasted Pizza this good I was in the mediterranean.

And dessert to finish was a chocolate sundae of the finest quality.

Biggest surprise was the price.

If I were running this restaurant I'd be putting the prices up or the place will have a milelong queue out the door in a very short space of time.

If I were to nit pick I could say the acoustics aren't the greatest...lot of "noise" but due to every other element being top notch, I'll let this irritation slide into insignificance.

5/5 and two massive thumbs up.

User

Can't get enough of the place. The food is fantastic, something for everyone and the pizza /pasta additions to the new menu are just the service has always been brilliant and would recommend for couple's and family alike. A firm favourite with us

User

Great food - huge portions. Service was really good. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Prices very reasonable... just a shame it was so filling we couldn’t manage any of the ice cream that looked amazing. Will be back

User

We went into the ice cream side to get ice cream. No price list. Nothing telling you what's on offer. Ie if you do more than just ice cream cones (Tea/Coffee/Cake/Waffles etc) complete disappointment considering its only up the road.

User

Went with friends today , felt more like a cafe than a restaurant. We thought we were going for the choice of 2 courses for £9.95 or 3 for £12.95 , only to be told that Monday - Friday only nothing on the menu what so ever to say so false advertising in this page !! Doubt we will be back

User

We were a walk in at 5.20pm on Fri 25th May only to be told all tables were booked from 6pm. Surely reserving a few tables for walk in customers is a normal occurrence but not on this occasion. No effort to accommodate us, we were simply turned away. It was a nice place with good service as the mill and grill, can't comment on the food but customer service poor now.

User

Walk in tonight, seated right away in bar and order taken. After waiting 30mins we checked with waitress who checked with kitchen and said it would be another couple of minutes, said there had been a ‘problem with printer’. Eventually got our order after 45mins - 2 x fish and chips, fish was frozen fish, chips were hard. Waitress was very apologetic - only saving grace was price of food (£23 for 2x fish and chips) was deducted from bill. Definitely won’t be back - so disappointing.

User

Really disappointed after looking forward to trying out the new local! Service was poor (25min for food and wasn’t that busy then another 5 min to actually bring all the food). Pasta was very bland despite meant to be a chilli sauce. Not impressed - luckily the ice cream saved the day!

User

Myself & my family, (only 3 of us) were a walk in at 5:15pm...we were told we could have a table till 6pm!! No consideration to accomodate us, just a straight we need tables at 6pm!...won't be in a hurry to visit any time soon. Staff didn't seem that bothered or enthusiastic to ensure we received a first visit welcome! Won't be in a hurry to recommend their hospitality anytime soon!
