Thanks Katherine. We do recommend booking for the busy days and you can hit the BOOK NOW button to make the booking. Also if we are really busy the Bar & Dining Room might be open so you can pop over there for food if you are really hungry.

We apologise to anyone who hasn’t been able to get to us today. We weren’t given any warning from Angus Council that they were planning to close the road down from Imrie Crescent today. The farm road down to the Diner and the beach is open so please ignore the sign coming from the Arbroath direction. You will need to come from Inverkeilor or the Lunan turn off closer to Inverkeilor from the A92. We are waiting for a call back to tell us when the work has finished.

Please note that we have had to change our contact number to the main Lunan Bay Stays number 01241 830798. After battling for 6 years to get a decent working phone line into the Diner we have finally given up. The constant battle with phone providers who are at the mercy of BT shareholders is costing to much financially and in lost working hours. The date for upgrading the line keeps getting pushed back. We love this place and always call in for something to eat when we are up visiting family. Popped in last week and had a delicious, very filling bowl of chowder. Will be back for lunch again soon!
We have spent a week in the Angus area, it's a beautiful place and none more beautiful than Lunan Bay. A stunning beach steeped in history from Red Castle to the lime kilns at Boddin Point, the kids loved it, the dogs loved it. If this wasn't enough, nestled behind the dunes is the Lunan Bay Diner. A contemporary structure sitting perfectly into its sandy surroundings and serving some of the best pulled pork I have ever tasted (the secret is the orange fizzy ore its marinated in overnight). From the sweet friendly pigtailed front of house to chef who had all 11 of our order out at once, 5 stars isn't enough. We look forward to our return in the future.

Nice food , great location and the hot chocolate is worth a visit for . Busy at the weekend but the sun was shining and the beach was busy so you would expect that. Today the sun is still blasting down and it was quieter so the staff had time for a friendly chat , good wee place.
Lunch at the diner today, sitting outside in the sunshine. The food was brilliant as always but I had the beef brisket and gravy roll today, which I think is new on the menu. It is outstanding, really outstanding! Highly recommended.

We felt very welcomed by the staff here, a lovely atmosphere when we walked in. Staff so friendly and accommodating.
We had soup and sandwich combo, the lentil soup was fantastic and BLT so tasty.

Lovely place for lunch, very warm welcome. Also recommend the self catering accommodation operated by the same owners. Lovely house, amazing views. Highly recommend a visit to the area and stopping off at the diner after walking along the beach.
Lovely lunch at the diner today - cheese and onion toastie and cheeseburger. Really tasty, both with great coleslaw.
If Scottish scenery and Pinterest had a love child, it's here. Stunning location, warm friendly staff. Cosy venue with loads of special touches. Ideal for walkers, anyone visiting the amazing beach or local area. Pets welcome. Well worth the recommended trip over. Love it! The ice-cream is lush too!
Fantastic place to eat down near the beach good food . Local produce and artwork on sale in the shop. Great place to sit and have a coffee after a walk on the sands. Dog friendly.
Bright and clean cafe with delicious fresh home cooked food.
Homemade burgers are really tasty and served with proper handcut chips and extra sides. Generous portion!
Tables inside and outside, and takeaway available. (Dogs welcome outside.)
Beautiful location, great service and FABULOUS food! The best apple crumble I've had in years! It was great to be able to sit and eat with our dog on the terrace too.
Always love their dark chocolate caramel shortbread! Today I had it with their delicious hot chocolate to warm up after a bracing walk in the beach with the dogs. My favourite place in the world.
Absolute gem of a place, situated beside the beach, ideal spot for the yummiest filled roll and fine coffee after a walk. Worth going to Lunan just for the diner.
Busy little cafe/diner on a Sunday when we called in recently. Only had coffees and scones but very nice indeed. Staff very friendly. A beautiful spot at Lunan Bay. Would certainly recommend...
Such a lovely location! came here on Sunday just before 2pm so missed the main lunchtime rush but was still around a half hour wait for a couple of sausage rolls. When they did arrive they were very good though. We came with a toddler who loves colouring in so was great to see that they had paper and pencils for little ones. Unfortunately they were very sticky a little dirty from other wee hands. It happens... But should maybe be given a wipe down at the end of a day. I would still come back and will recommend to anyone else venturing out to the beach!
First time here lovey place.
Only thing I didn’t like was the code for the bathroom door was on a bottom of the reciept. U have to buy before u go to the toilet. - I heard a few people say that was a joke !!!
Staff were friendly and in a great location. However, I found 2 black hairs in my lunch. 2 hours later and i still feel sick! Received a refund for my lunch, but I wont be back!
Half an hour for a burger after a twenty minute wait in a queue of five people. 2.30 for a 500ml bottle of Irn Bru. Terrible service and ridiculous prices. Such a shame that they want to rip~off folk as this place could be amazing if it was done right.
