M O R P H O L O G Y Description

Morphology host regular events in which participants can learn and practice exercises and techniques to improve and cultivate enriching dream and sleeping experiences.

Presentations can include all sorts of information and activities from the workings of EEG, neurofeedback technology, to sound /vibrational healing, guided meditations and sleeping sessions to re-working the ancient dream incubation rituals of the Ancient Egyptians.

We all dream, and as well as being a fascinating neurological process, dreaming has creatively inspired almost every human being that has ever existed on this planet. Dreaming is a skill that can be developed and good dreaming has a vast array of emotional, mental and physical health benefits.

Morphology is run by Luciana Haill and Sarah Janes from St. Leonards on Sea in East Sussex. They met one fateful night during the Perseid meteor shower at Herstmonceux Observatory, and they haven't looked back. Coming from quite startling different angles, together they take a wonderful holistic approach to all things related to sleep and dreaming.

Luciana's background is in interactive art, utilizing EEG neuro-feedback to create AV installations which have taken her all over the world. Luciana is artist in residence at Sussex University in the Centre for Computation Neuroscience and Robotics and has spent 17 years recording brainwaves, with over 2, 000 brains on file. Through studying the workings of the brain and her fascination with its processes and her interest in augmented states of consciousness, Luciana has worked with dreaming and studied with Stephen LaBerge of the Lucidity Institute and is an alumni of his famous Lucid Dreaming retreat in Hawaii.

Sarah has been a lucid dreamer since childhood, during which she instinctively inculcated numerous techniques to develop dreaming awareness. Sarah has written for The Idler on the subject and was co-editor of the esoteric magazine - The Bohemian. She's been working as an event organiser for over 10 years, working mainly with American bands touring the United States and Europe. She also hosts St. Leonards based speaking club - The Explorers Club (where Morphology had its premiere). Her interest in teaching lucid dreaming began after the birth of her daughter, when she noticed an appreciable decline in dream recall and vividness. In the process of re-learning these skills herself, the fantastic nature and potential of creative dreaming became her passion.
