Macdonald Aviemore Resort

The main Macdonalds shop, is closed on Sunday which is unbelievable. Although a nice resort, ideas and amenities change with little notice.

I have been visiting Aviemore and the Cairngorms for over 30 years. The Macdonald centre has steadily
Been going downhill since it was finished. But this time I noticed a big change. Even though I wasn’t staying there (I have family who live in Aviemore) I went there for a family show. Although the show was great the facilities were bad. All male toilets were either blocked or leaking. When I tried to find reception staff there were none to be found. Disabled toilet was filthy and looking like it hadn’t been cleaned for days. We tried to swim but as a none resident wasn’t allowed to use the pool without paying for a week pass 30 pounds per person. Wouldn’t recommend.

Nice clean shop would like to see more house in the cafe. Costa doesn't really fit with the nice shop set up

The MacDonald Aviemore appears to be primarily a conference venue. As such the accommodations are more on the spartan side than the price would suggest. Note that our room in the Morlich was clean and well appointed. The bed was two double beds push together. We opted for breakfast and dinner included. Aspects Restaurant was posh; Giovanni's not so much.

Great relaxing hotel in a wonderful location. Just one thing the changing facilities and lockers in the swimming pool need fixed and or updated. Staff excellent all round. Smiley face.😁

A very good conference centre. Everything ran smoothly. No shortage of refreshments and tasty meals. Only criticism is that our room got far too hot on one day. Though I can't imagine this is a routine problem in Aviemore.

Modern hotel complex in good location for visiting the Cairngorms and surrounding area. Food in Steakhouse very good. Had the Rib eye steak which was excellent! Rooms good, but not much character to the hotel.

The rooms are spacious and lovely. Staff are pleasant and the breakfast ok, but the rest of the hotel is very austere and a little worn. I suspect the other hotels in the complex are nicer

Smooth check-in process, rooms were a good size to share with a friend. Reception responded quickly when we had a problem with our shower tray not draining properly. Breakfast was a buffet and was very nice with everything well stocked. Overall a very positive experience and I would definitely stay again.
