It is a lovely hotel in a lovely setting. Really nice staff and rooms and the restaurant meal was lovely. Breakfast again really good (if a little slow but due to table service for hot food) Pool was good but due to poor maintenance I cut my thumb so some things could be updated. Spa was lovely and relaxing, I recommend going for the longer massage as 25 minutes is so short when you are so relaxed.

Lovely staff food was ok the pool was amazing really easy access to get into which I was so pleased about as at the time I had a problem with my ankle! Nice hotel

Gorgeous hotel! And excellent service from all staff. Good is lovely and location is great if you are looking for a quiet get away.

We had a lovely time on our spa day. Staff were helpful nothing was a both. Only thing was a woman in the changing area was quite rude!.. we don't know why. Anyway we would recommend it

Beautiful country setting but not within walking distance to shops or restaurants. No USB ports. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were delicious. We were there on a bus tour.

If you are looking to stay close to Glasgow, I suggest look for another hotel. This place is situated around 35 km on the outskirts of Glasgow and even then has to be reached by a service road.

Apparently, the hotel is not capable of attending to a large group. We were part of a Trafalgar group of 48 and the hotel staff struggled to serve breakfast on time. It was delayed by ten minutes. Even then it was served cold and to make it worse, there were no spoons and tongs. The waitresses didn't even understand that when laying out sausages, it's imperative to place tongs. Our entire group resented the attitude displayed at the hotel.

The rooms were not attended to/checked before new guests were checked in. The washbasin in our room would fill up with water and it became very filthy using them. Avoid this joint like the plague.

Look for a hotel closer to Glasgow.

Held an event here, staff were great, food was tasty and the whole evening went off without a hitch.

Hit and miss experience every time. I come here every fortnight. This week it is dogs in the hotel! That does not need commentary. I gave up on dinner here as the food takes ages to prepare. Positives are location (albeit if you don't have a car you are stuffed) and gym with swimming pool on site and included in the price.

Check in was smooth and friendly. Room was nice, although the view was of the heating ducts on the roof. WiFi in the room was terrible, couldn't get more than a bar and kept cutting out. Asked in reception for a booster, was told that there were boosters all over and they would try and reset one. Don't know if they did but it didn't improve. Dinner was lovely and dinner service was friendly and attentive. Breakfast was OK, not the friendliest service. I asked to change some items on the set breakfast and it was noted down with no reply. Used the pool/sauna area, it was clean and pleasant. Went for a cream tea before we left and it was awful. We were told they had no assault tea, we were given whipped cream instead of clotted with no explanation. When I asked if they had clotted I was told they had none. The coffee arrived warm rather than hot (I could comfortably hold the pot) and when we added water it was lukewarm. Worst were the scones, they were doughy in the middle. We sent them back, and were presented with the exact same issue. I ate one with difficulty and left the second. I would have been embarrassed to put those scones down to someone. Rather than speak to the barman again who seemed unable to change the situation, I spoke to reception. They were very friendly and helpful, answered some of my questions, apologised profusely and offered a complementary afternoon tea at another time with use of facilities.
