Due to the high demand, we will ONLY be taking bookings online through our website.

loved this place we went for Beauty and the beast afternoon tea yesterday for Valentine's the food was gorgeous and loved the personalised touch of cogsworth. We also went to Narnia Christmas Afternoon Tea where we walked through the wardrobe to get to our table. Amazing place and the afternoon teas are so much better and well priced compared to London. we will be back! thank you x

Wow what a lovely place. Great experience. We went today for the Beauty & The Beast afternoon Tea, we were celebrating my nieces birthday. The tables were beautifully laid, lovely touches to incorporate the theme. Staff were all very accommodating, friendly and overall delivered a lovely experience. The food was first class, lovely selection of sandwiches, followed by delicious warm scones and then a fabulous selection of cakes. As much tea as you would like.

Definitely 5 stars for everything. Will be back for the Alice afternoon tea.

Went today for Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea it was amazing best afternoon tea I’ve been too, great detail with everything, friendly staff and lovely food especially the cakes. Will definitely be back to try another theme

We had the most magical afternoon tea ever, the food was amazing and so inspired. The whole afternoon tea was very well thought out and made even better by the exceptional service we received. I cannot recommend Mad Dogs and Englishman enough, a must go to place for Essex!!

We celebrated my daughters 18th with the Midsummer Nights Dream themed afternoon tea, lovely food and great service. Would highly recommend for that something extra special.

We came along today to your Alice in Wonderland afternoon tea, it was our third visit and it did not disappoint. Amazing food in the most beautiful setting. Thank you again for another lovely afternoon x

Visited yesterday for the Alice in wonderland afternoon tea. Wow ! It was amazing. The setting was fantastic, the staff were lovely and the food was delicious! By far the best afternoon tea I’ve been to !

This was a Mother’s Day gift from my daughter-in-law and son what a lovely gift we had Alice in Wonderland theme the decor was beautiful and the food delicious would highly recommend and will return thank you for a lovely time

This is truly magical experience.... I went with my daughter few weeks ago.

The whole experience was amazing the first footstep into the shop is lovely not sure if your in the right place.



Jill and her wonderful staff are a credit to this independent family Tea Room room.

I have been to many Cream Teas in London including the Sanderson hotel .... Mad Dogs and Gentleman is by far the best I have experience.

My sister in law organised a lovely afternoon here for a surprise hen for me with family and it was amazing! It was beauty and the beast themed and I loved it. Everyone commented how delicious the food was especially the fresh scones and the cakes were amazing. Will definitely be returning ���

My husband and I recently had the Midsummer Nights Dream Afternoon Tea and it was the most amazing experience!!!Everything was truly magnificent from the decor to the wonderful food.We have decided that this is going to be our mummy and daddy place to go and can't wait to return.

My friend and I had the Beauty & the Beast themed tea yesterday. As huge fans of the film we were worried we’d be disappointed by tenuous links & cheap gimmicks but...it was absolutely beautiful! The decor was perfect & all of the little touches - the mirror, of course Mrs Potts & Chip, & the rose were all so pretty. The food was delicious the staff were friendly & attentive. A really lovely experience so I’ve just booked the Alice in Wonderland tea for March too. 😊
