After almost 2 years, Maison Bleue at Home is handing the baton over to a brand new operator to carry on the good work alongside Social Bite. Maison Bleue will still be involved with Social Bite at board level and will continue to support the cause :) The restaurant will be closed for the next few weeks in order to get a snazzy new facelift, but we would like to thank all our loyal customers for all their support and donations and our wonderful staff for all their hard work over the past two years! It has been a fantastic experience and so much good work has been done. Watch this space for more exciting news! xxx

Yesterday Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited the Social Bite cafe on Rose street to mark the launch of their 'Housing First' project. Dean Gassabi was telling Miss Markle all about Maison Bleue @ Home and we very much look forward to welcoming the royal couple next time they visit Scotland.

User

Very proud to announce that our partners at Social Bite are welcoming Prince Harry and Meghan Markle next week at the Rose Street cafe! We are hoping that their visit will raise further awareness of our plight to tackle Homelessness in Scotland ❤️

User

This place is excellent, and provides an opportunity to mix social responsibility with a really good meal. We had lunch (moules frites and apple tart for me, chicken tagine and apple tart for my partner). Both were great, though not sure of the need for parsley all over the frites. Reasonably priced at under £20/head (we each had a glass of wine too), meaning we were happy to participate in the "Pay It Forward" scheme and contribute to supplying lunch to homeless people on a Monday afternoon. Staff were all great, decor is pretty cool, and there was a nice buzz. Queensferry Street seems to be slowly improving, and Home opening will certainly help the process. We'll definitely be going back.

User

Really enjoyed my visit here last night. Food was great and very friendly staff. The Cullen Skink Asian Style was delicious 😋

User

Perfect! Meal was delicious, filling and well presented. The restaurant looks and feels cosy and lovely. And the staff were fantastic, very very down to earth and friendly.

On top of all that, you can buy coffe, lunch or/and a dinner for someone need in need with their Pay It Forward table card

Brilliant!

User

My partner and I visited this gorgeous restaurant last night for his birthday, it completely exceeded every expectation! I have severe food intolerances and am very limited with what I can eat, the waiters and chefs were more than accommodating, going over and above anything I expected in visiting! The food is outstanding and the staff are so friendly. We would both like to say a huge thank you for making our visit special, we were overwhelmed by kindness.

User

I've wanted to bring my two (adult) children here for ages. We had a lovely lunch. The choice was good, portion sizes spot on, the service effortless, the pace just right. The ethos also scored a direct hit. Well done! We'll all be back, either together or bringing other people.

User

Had a very enjoyable lunch with my husband, partially paid for with Christmas present vouchers (a great idea: thanks, sis). Portion sizes allowed us to go for three delicious courses: chunky onion soup, with a cheese-loaded crouton, fish of the day (pan-fried salmon) and a very more-ish chocolate/orange cheesecake. Open but still cosy atmosphere, and we had a little table in the window with great people-watching opportunities!

User

Had a really lovely evening here, food was great with lots of really tempting options. The staff were really lovely and friendly and helped me with a secret mission. Definitely will be going back!

User

Great concept, beautiful food and super staff.

When a friend arrived late and we’d already eaten, we had enjoyed the haggis balls so much we had some more whilst he ordered and ate!

User

Great as the haggis balls are, maybe a bit too heavy for lunch - but that’s personal! The spiced Lamb burger was amazing, totally different to your normal run of the mill burger and cooked perfectly. Other half had fish, which she scoffed in a heartbeat. Would definitely recommend a visit.

User

Food was excellent .i had seabream with barley risotto. My friend had chicken with gruyere and mash . Followed by pudding. It was such a lovely restaurant and honestly will say is the best meal i have ever had. (I am fussy and worked in carering for years ). Cant wait to return. Loved the fact we were able to buy meals for 2 homeless people .And the staff were fantastic .

User

Food was delicious & service fabulous! Love pay it forward, more restaurants should take a leap out of Maison Bleue’s book! 100% will be returning very soon!

User

Fantastic food and great concept with the Pay It Forward table card which you were under no pressure to contribute to. Dined on a Saturday evening and there was a nice warm welcoming atmosphere - we ate from the Christmas menu which proved to be a real hit with out table - Haggis Balls and the Melted Camembert was delicious followed by the Steak, Venison and Lamb Tangine - special mention for the Creme Brulee. The staff were fantastic very friendly and attentive to our needs. What a great experience and all for a great cause. Will definitely be back.

User

Delicious food, friendly attentive staff, unbeatable concept!

User

Came across this lovely restaurant last night. Staff were so friendly and extremely accommodating of us with our 11 and 12 year old. Food was absolutely delicious and it was great to be able to ‘pay it forward’ to help the homeless. Great concept.

User

Beautiful restaurant with welcoming attentive staff. Lovely atmosphere with great an interesting and broad menu. Quality and presentation of the food is outstanding and the concept is just brilliant. Seeing the stories of some of the people they've helped on the walls is great. Congratulations on the brilliant work you do

User

Amazing, food, staff and atmosphere!! Great night had by all. On top of the fact that you can do your bit by providing a meal for someone who really needs it! Highly recommend.

User

Amazing service, staff remembered me from prior visit although it had been a while, perfect level of attentiveness and advice regarding the menu and drinks, food was utterly amazing and the value was incredible. And all for an amazing cause. Impossible to fault, absolutely everything was top-notch in every way :)

User

A rare visit to the city with a girl friend. Could not have been better. Food presentation and taste .. out of this world. Service exceptional and what the restaurant stands for is fantastic. Thank you for having us share this joy with you.

User

Food was okay, not great. A bit overpriced for the quality. We had the posh Mac and Cheese which was penne pasta in a cheese sauce and then the lamb ragine which was over cooked with tasteless couscous and some chickpeas. If it wasn't for the pay forward option then I would not got back here. Very friendly staff though.
