Went yesterday and having recently turned veggie I was seriously craving ramen. I had a tofu dan dan and it was the most delicious ramen I've ever had - meat or veggie. If only this place was in Bristol, I'd go all the time!

User

Went last night again with my girlfriend. She loves sushi and maintains this is the best sushi in Scotland. I had the special which was a curry udon with a crumb and comes with the katsu chicken, it was amazing. She had the salmon set which was made freshly infront of her which she loves. The pumpkin croquettes are also amazing. Not seen these anywhere else!

User

Visited yesterday the restaurant in Fountainbridge. The staff was excellent, friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing! Will definitely come back soon.

User

Visit this ramen restaurant today. Me and my girls had a wonderful and scrumptious lunch there. We tried Dan Dan mein and master chef "burnt soyu"! Love it love it! Staffs are friendly And helpful. I will definitely recommend it!

User

This is the best sushi I've eaten and my partner had a sashimi main, plus another eel dish and was in 7th heaven! So fresh, so tasty and so authentic. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a true experience of Japanese cuisine.

User

Possibly the only *real* ramen I have ever had, like nothing else in the world! Oh my! Just incredible flavour, soul food, entire body food, I feel replenished and rejuvenated! Dan Dan Mein: Sesame paste broth, served with shredded chicken, balsamic vinegar, chilli oil, a soft-boiled egg, and greens. <3 <3 <3 Wow.

User

My husband and I visited yesterday and loved it! We had the salmon sushi to start which was the best sushi I've ever had. I then had a chicken curry dish and my hubby had chicken ramen, both dishes were delicious, highly recommended this place!

User

Love this place, been twice and would definitely go back whenever I’m in Edinburgh. The food is always delicious and well portioned, absolutely worth the money! Staff are friendly and service was great both times I’ve been in. Now, if only they could open a branch in Aberdeen..

User

Last ramen we had was in Kyoto while on holiday-a hard act to follow! Tonight we were delighted to have the most delicious ramen and side of octopus balls- perfection on a plate. Staff are lovely too! We'll be back!!

User

I've eaten ramen in pretty much every Japanese in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Definitely rate this as the best.

Had the tonkotsu pork ramen. Super tasty pork and broth. And the bbq octopus was delicious, real charred taste.

User

Excellent highly recommend. Portions massive and the side dishes would do a kid as a main. We went to west Richmond street, branch can only hold about 12 people but has a downstairs section. There are 2 other branches which might be bigger if there is a crowd of you, not sure. We had beef tataki ramen and dan dan mein, sides of Tetrriyaki chicken (5 pieces comes with a heap of rice which we couldn’t manage) and pork gyoza x5. Absolutely delicious.

User

Best Sushi place in Edinburgh. Would highly recommend the Hell Ramen for those who love spicy food!!

Sushi quality is by far the best in Edinburgh. There are a few other sushi places around town which I have tried, but Maki and Ramen remains top spot for me.

Best Ramen I’ve ever had

I went to Edinburgh for a study abroad trip this summer & one of the professors talked very highly of Maki & Ramen. After going there I understood, truly a gem in Edinburgh. If you ever get the chance to eat here, do it.

User

Ate here (Fountainbridge) Tuesday night with the family. Loved the sushi. Staff friendly and very helpful. A late table came in though closing in approx 15 minutes and staff showed no 'angst' at having to serve on. Signs of great customer service in my book!

User

Amazing ramen, fab sushi and really good prices. Also do half size bowls of ramen, which are great at lunch time or if you want to try the rest of the menu. Highly recommend.

User

A little ramen restaurant closes to Edinburgh University. Ramen are freshly made from scratch everyday and you can taste it. Best place to visit when you are craving some thick broth and noodles.

User

Food excellent (we had nigiri, maki and California rolls) although the green tea was weak and lukewarm (came in thermos). Normal prices. Ambience studenty, didn't look promising, small space: upstairs, with those horrible gas bar stools and a shelf to eat off, downstairs seating with cheap chairs and wobbly tables. However service with a smile considering we came in late, after a show at the Festival Theatre and as I said, the food was excellent.

User

Tried the one at Fountain Park. Food is good. But need to try other items etc to get a fuller view the place. Service was slow though, and there was a mishap. Hot tea readily available is a good touch. In terms of price point - feels high on a few items, but it is a great set up in terms of decour.

User

I would give the place on Fountainbridge 5 stars if only the portions weren’t getting smaller every time. The first time we picked something up from there we were thrilled by the nice big pieces of salmon. Then we ordered via Deliveroo a few times and found them quite a bit smaller. We thought, ah well, perhaps they are a bit stressed today or it’s the lunch rush. But then we went to the restaurant for dinner with some friends and, I kid you not, the salmon sushi were smaller than the maki on the same plate!

The food itself is very good. The price would absolutely be justified if the portions hadn’t gotten ridiculously tiny.
