Last Monday, I received a call ar family friend of ours, George Munro had passed away. This news greatly saddened me as I have gladly known this man for 36years as a friend. I met him North Berwick. As you will know, he used to have a cafe called “The George Cafe”. When he left the cafe he came and worked for a few years here in Mamma Roma. He always stayed the same man that I was proud to know. He was kind, honest, hard working and always made us laugh (especially his superstitious character!). I will greatly miss my friend, as will my family. I am glad that I was able to see him before he passed away.
Thank you for everything George, and I hope that you are at peace.

*ATTENTION*
As you all know, this man has been trying to break into our property. At first he stole our chef’s bike, as you can see in our post below. Then, he came back and tried to actually break into the property as you can see in the first few pictures in which he is wearing his yellow jacket.
Recently, on the 12th January (Friday Night) he was with a friend and walked past the restaurant. Him and his friend were deliberating whether to try and get into to kitchen or no...t. They decided to come back and walked past the gate of the dining area downstairs that he previously also tried to break into. He tried to pry the gate open but it was locked, and his friend stood by him. Then upon seeing it was closed they walked off, but he came back while his friend was further up the road. As you can see from the last pictures, he managed to open the gate which was locked after numerous attempts.
Please beware if you see this man. He is a thief!

Happy 80th birthday to my Mamma , the real Mamma Roma!

Went for dinner last with hubby, the service was so welcoming and first class. The food was delicious and just the right size. Selection of dishes is good and they were happy to remove the mushrooms from my dish of choice. Highly recommend a visit to this great Italian restaurant. We will definitely be back.

We just got a pizza delivered from here. It was super fast delivery and the pizza is best we have had in ages!! Great food and great delivery!

We came here for lunch before seeing wicked in the playhouse and it was a real treat.

Everything was beautiful, the decor, the service and especially the food 🍝

Mamma Roma is a true gem of Edinburgh. Friendly, attentive staff, wonderful food, and an atmosphere of absolute welcome. I have taken friends here, and they always go back as often as possible. I have been in at breakfast, lunch and dinner, and always found it a wonderful place to eat. Very generous portions too.



A lovely place for a quiet tete-a-tete, and just as good for a big evening meal with family and friends!

First visit to Edinburgh and we have found a perfect Italian restaurant: the food was delicious, the staff were welcoming and professional, the venue was stylish and the theatre menu was terrific.

Fantastic place, amazing food and very helpful and attentive staff. I went for the 3 course lunch deal and was not disappointed, wonderful atmosphere a must visit if in Edinburgh.

Excellent service, staff did their best to seat us on a very busy Saturday night, we were sat in a lovely, almost private dining room to ourselves. Excellent menu and service and very reasonably priced. We went back again today for lunch before our train home. Would definite recommend.

Came for a meal with my fiance and friends wow amazing service and very friendly highly recommended. Food was just fantastic was recommended by someone and was not disappointed at all. Will definitely be back next time in Edinburgh thank you guys xx

A revelation. Edinburgh was jam packed between The Rolling Stones. Darts and the Moonwalk. Despite having no reservation we were welcomed in and luckily were given a table for 2. Everyone staff wise was Italian (I love Italians) and I noticed quite a few Italian speaking customers. Food was great(biggest profitteroles. sic I have ever experienced) and dining with a vegetarian the menu was perfect. Staff are super friendly. I have passed this restaurant so many times. Don't pass it...go in and enjoy. �

8 of us walked in off the street at 830 and were made very welcome and staff pulled tables and chair together to accommodate us comfortably - the food and service were fantastic!! The bill was reasonable too!! Thank you 👏🏻👏🏻
