Went to Mamma's and absolutely loved it. The staff and the owner Mark were so accomodating and courteous. The fish & chips were fabulous! Pay a visit and taste for yourself.

Real traditional chip shop, and the food is fresh and tasty. Staff are really fab too.

It's the best fish and chips in Scotland once you eat at mamas chippies you won't go anywhere else.

I always enjoy my wee fish tea. Girls are very helpful. It was very busy still got served very Quick every table was taken up that's a good sign I always find the staff very pleasant,

Excellent food and I usually eat here when I visit Irvine as it keeps me going till I get back home to Dundee.No complaints.

1st time in yesterday we enjoyed ur sausage and chips and also ur pizza crunch would defo b back soon its great value for the money my wife also loved it great chippy beat our chip shops down in dumfries :) also great staff

This place was a lovely wee treat. Great deals and they couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Even took my husbands plate back and gave him a fresh one when he had to go change my 10 week old daughter and his went cold . Just a pleasant wee place Would definitely recommend :)

I've been going into mamas every Saturday for years with my friend for fish tea and it has been brilliant until today the fish was burned and there was exactly 7 chips on my plate disgusted if not up to scratch next week I won't be back

ordered through just eat and waited more than the time that they said and it was only fit for the the bin and it will the last time

Went tonight sunday 5th July for 2 suppers at 10.30 as it stated it closed at 11pm low and behold it closed at 10.30 .... think they need to fix there times opening and closing

Was in earlier for something to eat, when complained about the time i was left waiting woman behind the counter spat into my fritter roll as it was last to be wrapped and had nerve to call me a liar when i complained to another member of staff. Absolute vile wont be back!

Placed a small online order at 7.15pm - Delivery time was to be 7.59pm - Phoned twice and spoke to a very grumpy woman (Marion) - very unhelpful, abrupt and quite insulting too. Order finally arrived at 8.45pm!!! Disgraceful - £2.50 for THAT! - NEVER be back. Husband diabetic and was starting to get low blood sugar on top of it

Ordered smoke sausage supper got sausage super also ordered 4 fritters got 2 served by someone women who looked n acted like she was stoned won't be going again. If u want what u pay for go some where else as mama will give u half an order will stick to Marcos or enzos in future

Ordered a half pizza crunch supper and a few other things at 8pm to be delivered for 8.45pm. Other people in my family ordered a Chinese for 8.45pm and there's arrived bang on. By 9.15 I'd had enough and gave them a call to which they replied it was on the way. 10 minutes later and we called to cancel the order and get a refund as it was now 9.30 and I was now eating the left over Chinese. They barely apologised - just gave excuses - and that was that! A bit disappointed but none-the-less, what happened happened and I can get on with that. Come home from work today and the door goes with my cold delivery that had been sitting out from the night before!! 20-odd hours after my order they insult us with delivering it stone cold. Clearly just recycled from the night before and redelivered. EHO springs to mind! Was it meant to be funny? We certainly had a laugh, threw the old manky food in the bin and vowed never to return �

I was returning home by train with my family from the SEC, when we started to consider where we'd source our evening meal. I suggested this establishment where I've been pleased with, when making purchases during the day.

After checking the closing time 23:00, we arrived at 22:35 with an order for the six of us. We were immediately 'greeted' with the announcement that all we could order was from the shelf of pre-cooked items.

I questioned this, as many in my family have owned chip shops, and I know that nothing couldn't be cooked in the time between us arriving, and the stated closing time, however, we were flatly told that it was a case of take it or leave it.

So we were left having to pick items that we didn't really want (or as it turns out, would like), that was dried out, and quite cold. It tasted like it was cooked at least an hour beforehand, and the majority ended up in the bin.

Now, I appreciate that my disappointment would be unreasonable had I rolled up with the same order, with only five minutes prior to closing, but it most definitely appeared (from the way we were ushered out at 22:50), that the staff had somewhere they'd much rather be.

I wish I'd been somewhere else also, and will think more than twice about venturing back.

By all means, switch off your pans at 22:50 and offer only what has been already cooked, but not when there's around a half-hour remaining.

Either change your opening times to close earlier or provide the service until you close.

I paid 6.50 for a special supper and it was a complete waste of money .the batter was far too thick and the fat needs changed .I'm pensioners and can't afford to pay this just to through in the bin.mamma always had a good reputation but defiantly went down hill . I'll try sending photos of it .by the way this is not my photo

Got a couple of fritters today and took them home they were as thin as paper and one was only half the size of the other one shocking will not be goig back there again they have certainly went down hill lucky i didnt take it back and threw it at them
