Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort

We had the privilege of having our wedding here yesterday, it was completely flawless throughout and we couldn’t have picked a better venue!

Each member of our family couldn’t speak more highly of the staff here who did their upmost to make sure we had the best day!

Keri our wedding planner was incredible and made sure everything was organised perfectly! Thanks to all the marquee staff and chefs as well as everyone in the main hotel who helped us throughout the day! There is nothing we could fault and can’t thank you enough! You all made it most perfect wedding day we could have imagined!!

The venue itself is beautiful, clean, well kept and all round stunning!! We each had a beautiful room to get ready in and felt we were in great capable hands if we needed even the tiniest thing!

We had our wedding at Mar hall on Saturday it was amazing from start to finish venue is just stunning, food was lovely everything was fab ourselves and all our guests had the best day. Would recommend to anyone looking to book wedding will not be disappointed. Wedding coordinator Keri was brilliant and all the staff thanks again for the best day of our lives Stacey & William x

Was there on Monday with Gran n Mum for itison afternoon tea. Paid for 1 full price one also. Service was great very attentive . Moved us after I asked as my Gran couldn’t sit at couches n low table. Food was lovely. Was very apprehensive as reviews not great but very pleased . My gran felt like the queen and that’s all that matters x

The spa is Stunning full of tranquility and luxury bundled up in this beautiful hotel.

Love the new refurbished treatment rooms!! Very luxurious, spacious and comfortable.

Just had an amazing massage and facial, thank you Fiona exactly what I needed.

Lunch as always amazing, lovely service ALWAYS with a smile, soup and sandwiches must be finished off with the scone, jam and cream. Perfect lunch for a perfect day!

Surprised with an overnight stay last night by my husband for my 30th birthday this weekend. Greeted on arrival by reception very warmly and very informative of our options for dinner, breakfast and leisure facilities. Dinner we decided to sit in the grand hall we had our 1 year old with us so was ideal for us. Was offered the bad and also the restaurant menu which was great to have some choice! We ordered from the restaurant menu which to me, for a five star resort was very well priced. Food was fantastic, well presented and great choice. My little girl had a good choice as well for us to decide. Atmosphere was lovely and added to it when the girl was playing piano and singing was really nice could have listened to her all day. We had breakfast delivered to the room which was great and we had a late check out which was even better! Will definitely be back soon minus our child this time!!

Recently had our wedding here and it was simply wonderful. A beautiful setting with the most fantastic staff.

Just had an amazing spa day with my mum for her birthday. Facilities are lovely & create a nice relaxing atmosphere. Fab touch with the Arran aromatic products in the bathrooms & showers.

My therapists Jamie was outstanding & Sam my mum’s therapist left her feeling well & truly chilled out. Both girls, the cafe & spa reception staff were very friendly & helpful. Sandwiches from the cafe were lovely & fresh.

I was working for a supplier at today's wedding (Joe & Becky Cook) where I met Scott. From what I understand Scott is a relatively new member of the team but you would never know! He is a total breath of fresh air. We built up a wonderful rapport in the few times I was speaking with him. I hope he sees this. He is a complete asset to the team.......every hotel should have a Scott working in it.

Had a fantastic day yesterday with my sister yvonne,I got her a spa day & lunch for her 60th,staff were very friendly & attentive,Fiona done an amazing job on my facial & massage,we both really enjoyed it & felt so relaxed ,absolutely beautiful Hotel & amazing views ,will definitely be back to get spoiled again,thank you to all the staff for a relaxing day 😘😘😘

Great place and very very clean. my sister had her wedding here the staff went the extra mile and they couldn't of done any more. They were also great with the children and never once made me feel uncomfortable with my children even when they started running around a little thank you so much to you all the staff.

Fantastic day on Friday at my daughter Kirsty’s wedding. The venue was fantastic, the food was amazing and the staff could not be more helpful. A huge thanks to Keri Kirsty’s wedding planner for making it all go so smoothly and a special mention to Cathie who is an absolute gem and looked after the top table like we were royalty. I would highly recommend Mar Hall.

Fabulous . My daughter's wedding was held here yesterday,21st April 2018. Everything was wonderful. The rooms are stylish and comfortable. The staff are among some of the best I have encountered and I have been in many parts of the world. The food was highly praised by everyone. It is difficult for venues to live up to a couples' wedding dream, but you did it Mar Hall. Take a bow...(Extra bonus for your staff maybe?)

After getting surprised with a 2 night stay at the hotel for my birthday we arrived at hotel only to be greeted very pleasantly by the owner who wished us well in our stay, the staff were first class in service and manners from check in to check out, the first night stay we had dinner in the hotel and staff member Ally was excellent his service was top class his humour even more so, concierge (ian) was excellent helping us with any needs and enquiries we had, we also treated ourselves to the one of the many spa treatments available which was the massage, it lasted an hour and it was an unreal experience and very very relaxing, The staff in the spa really knew how treat guests and give them an excellent service, all in all the experience we had was top class and i will definitely be back at this Hotel, keep us the good work guys!!

Was stunning location had a beer and cocktail in the bar 4.10 for the beer and 10 for the cocktail. Went for dinner ordered the same again, came back 8.50 for the beer and 22.50 for the cocktail. Are you kidding me food great, room great, bed really hard prices in the great hall when the drinks are poured next door shocking sorry won't be back everyone needs to make a profit but that's pushing it

Was looking forward to afternoon tea but unfortunately was a wee bit disappointed. Tea came a long time before the food and had cooled down by the time we eventually got the food. Bread used for sandwiches felt that it had been sitting out for a while and it was not very soft. Would not rush back.

I had my wedding there over a month ago I the newly renovated Morton house. My day ran smoothly and was happy with a few exceptions tht left me disappointed.. Firstly on the day Marhall failed to print out the seating plan and name places that is including in the package we paid for , luckily we had Polaroid pictures with names in them that we supplied ourselves but had 3 names that we needed Marhall to print out for us but their printer broke the morning of my wedding and my guests were directed to the seats instead. My polariod pictures also were held in Crystal ball pictures holders that I supplied and Mar Hall refused guests to take home claiming it was theirs when it was part of my favours. My mum later returned to claim some of them back... My biggest dissappoinent was that when I woke up the next morning to collect what was left of my wedding cake they had binned it saying I never instructed them what I wanted to do with it... but i didnt think for one minute it would of all got binned, regardless I still had a great day and the staff were great however my mum is still waiting a return call about my cake .

Booked afternoon tea with Itison vouchers for my 87 year old mothers birthday. I had phoned in the morning to check wheelchair access and spoke to a lady ( unfortunately I can’t remember her name but think it started with an S). She was very helpful and said because of my mothers mobility issues she would see that a table with upright chairs as apposed to sofas would be made available. That would have been great but unfortunately Miss S hadn’t passed the information on to the waitressing staff who were totally unaware. The waitresses did do their utmost to accommodate us but it was disappointing. Also where we had been seated was right next to the large door which led through to the reception area and every time it opened there was an almighty draught which even moved the massive tapestry on the wall above the fireplace.

On a positive note the service was good, and the food was nice. Will I be back??

You walk in and greeted perfectly! It all goes down hill from then on though. Extremely slow service everywhere. Food is not worth the price tag. Fine dining is not fine dining at all. It standard restaurant grub if that. The manager/ front of house needs to brush up on his attitude and manners. I was standing in front of the wait here sign alone with my children waiting to be seated. He ignored me turns and starts talking to someone else then seats a couple. We where left standing for 10mins or so so we went the other place to eat in the main building which is a bar. Not suitable for children as no proper tables to eat at and had loud football on it really is just a sports bar. The Italian is good but they did give me auntie Bessie’s or similar roast potatoes � however the food was good despite the very obviously processed frozen potatoes and the staff super friendly. Very apologetic over slow service. Bedrooms! We had a Deluxe which has a sofa bed and super king. Not great comfort for the bed but not the worse. Sofa bed is awful!!! The room and bathroom are clean.

The leisure centre is looking a bit old and definitely not one of the best but it’s fine as long as you aren’t coming for a spa weekend. If you are then go elsewhere �.



All n all they have a lot of work to do. The place needs upgraded. It’s not worth the price people pay and I will only recommend it for being close to the airport.

I would like to say all house keeping staff members have been so lovely and helpful. There was a wedding on our first night and the hotel didn’t have enough covers. My son is Autistic and needed a douvet. The lady on duty

Said say no more and did everything she could to accommodate him. I was so thankful to her.

Myself and 7 friends booked a golf outing 3 weeks ago for the 17th of june for two rounds of golf with food between rounds. The day ticket for golf was £50 per head and we were told with food would be around £60. After 3 or 4 phone calls to different members of staff to confirm what we could expect food wise no one could tell us. So 2 days before my friend phoned again to be told by yet another different member of staff that frazer in the golf shop had no authority to take such a booking and reminded us that mar hall is a "5 star resort" and did not do day tickets for golf ( even though we played on a day ticket in 2015). We were then told members had priority for tee times and that she could offer us later tee times but the price would now be £80 (even though they don't do day tickets, hmm). We told them to forget it. How would this have been turning up having to tell my friends it would now cost an extra £160. Mar hall.....embarrassing. won't "try" to book again.
