Margiotta Polwarth

Well stocked corner shop, and eggs and milk are locally sourced and on hand when you realise you've run out. They've got a decent beer and wine selection as well. Yes, Margiotta are obviously pricier than the Tesco up in Bruntsfield or the ScotMid down the street, but they are also open later than Scotmid and closer than Tesco when you're fixing breakfast and realise there's no coffee in the house!

Came at 7 in the morning (their opening time) but the bread was absolutely not fresh at all.

Good selection of Italian foods. Quite expensive however.

Friendly, variety of nice foods and wine. Brown and/or lunch rolls lacking. Many folk can't digest white flour but still need to eat lunch!

Decent local supermarket, but it is small and expensive. Not one for the weekly shop.

Always a great little corner shop. Slightly more up market and better stocked than your average

Anything you might need to cook something when your fridge is empty and you don't want to walk to the nearest supermarket. Good quality and locally sourced food.
