Walked past a few times and always meant to pop in. So glad we did as loved the place from decor to atmosphere to very friendly staff! Didn't try the food as on DBB deal but guy in booth next to us had a burger with fries and onion rings and it looked and smelt fab. Planning to pop in tonight to see live band. Would highly recommend this pub.

User

Very friendly pub with a good atmosphere just a few minutes walk from the town centre, I was only in Oban for the night but I'd recommend this place to anybody, a local covers band were playing on Saturday, The Chunks, good band who suit this place perfectly, I'll be back

User

Popped in for a pint after dropping car off for long stay, Ended up with a few too many pints and the family meeting us for dinner!

Food was lovely and plentiful and a great early evening was had by all !

I am sorry to say that we have had our first BAD experience in Markie Dans Oban tonight, it clearly says dog friendly, myself and my husband have visited Oban once a month for years and one of our favourit places was Markie Dans, we were so pleased it was dog friendly as we have an 8 month old Samyoid, she just loves company, she is so loving and well behaved and on new years eve we went into markie dans, Rose my dog was so excited and the company we were in spoiled her so she darked with excitement, (for a short period of time) an elderly lady who i now know to be the owners mum complained to all people around us but failed to talk to me or my husband, she made me feel so uncomfortable we left early. Tonight we went back in and before my husband had managed to get us a drink the same old women was informing people at another table how she was annoyed about us having our dog in and how she had already told us not to bring her back, i told the lady that i could clearly hear what she was saying to which i got alot of abuse about how it was not appropriate to bring a bog into a pub, i informed her that there had been other dogs in the pub to which she informed me that only allowed Guide dog are allowed and then changed it to well behaved dogs and children and if dogs or children misbehave they are asked to leave. Myself and my husband were so annoyed at this ladys manner towards us that we left, prior to doing this i spoke to the manager who was this ladys Granson who informed me his hands were tied, staff member was able to tell me that she speaks to staff in such a manner as well. The lady actually told her granson to get me out before she done somthing she might regret. Can you please explain to me why this lady is allowed to make staff and long term customers feel this way. Am totally disgusted. Hope to hear from you soon , charlotte
