One of the most iconic cars in the current #Honda lineup, the Civic Type R, has been transformed into a life-size #LEGO® model ahead of the much anticipated ‘LEGO® MASTERS’ show airing on Channel Nine from 28th April.
The passionate team behind the creation, led by global expert Ryan McNaught – LEGO® Certified Professional – used more than 320,000 LEGO® bricks in the build and took over 1,300 hours with a team of nine assembling each brick by hand.
Mr. McNaught expressed some... exciting but technical challenges in building the Type R due to the unique shape and design of the vehicle – elements that attract award recognition worldwide.
“We’ve loved the challenge of this project. The car is shaped with a considerable amount of curved lines, making it a tough but interesting build. From the working lights and indicators to intricate LEGO® Honda logos, the detail on the model has been a fun one for us to work on”, said Mr. McNaught.
A steel frame supports the structure of LEGO® bricks, all glued together and is built completely by stock standard pieces. The car ‘comes to life’ with the help of an iPad which turns on the headlights, DRLs, fog lights, hazard lights, brake and reversing lights.
The LEGO® car was built from the ground up, layer by layer. The most challenging elements of the build were the window wipers due to their fragility, and the back spoiler which needed structure to allow it to float.
The impressive build celebrates Honda’s support of the upcoming show LEGO® MASTERS, which will see eight pairs of LEGO® fanatics fight it out in a high intensity building competition. McNaught will judge the show alongside Australian radio and TV personality, Hamish Blake, as host.
Honda Australia Director, Mr. Stephen Collins said, “Honda is a company that is all about creativity and innovation so it’s great to support a family show that mirrors these ideals so well. Through LEGO® MASTERS we’ll see some of the dreams of the contestants, and also fans, come to life – we’re proud to be helping drive that.”

#Honda opened the doors on its exhibit at Milan Design Week 2019, the first time the brand has had a significant presence at the world’s largest design exhibition. Honda’s e Prototype, fresh from its world premiere at 2019 Geneva Motor Show will be the centrepiece of the “Honda experience - Casa Connessa Tortona“.

Based in the Tortona design district of Milan, Honda has used high-end fashion boutique “Alysi - The Garden House” as the... base to create its experience.
On entry, visitors are greeted by an immersive visual and auditory experience designed to represent the shift from the urban environment to a calming space. Walking through the entrance into the main space, the Honda e Prototype is presented under a glass roof, leaving the car open to shifting natural light.
At the centre of the venue sits an architectural tree sculpture, created from natural materials. The sculpture acts as a symbol of the seamless link between the outside environment and inside life that inspired the design language of the Honda e Prototype.
Furniture and photography collaborations
Elsewhere, Honda has worked together with a team of Italian photographers to create an exhibition inspired by the design language of the Honda e Prototype. The team lead by Sara Mautone use projection techniques to display their work.
The environment is completed by a diorama designed to represent the ‘seamless living’ style of the Honda e Prototype interior. Italian furniture company Danord curated pieces for this area. Based close to Modena, founder Francesca Gatti specialises in the curation of furniture in the style of mid-century Scandinavian and modern design alike.
“Honda experience - Casa Connessa Tortona“ is based in zona Tortona, close to Porta Genova train station. The venue will be open from 9-14 April, 10am-9pm.

#Honda has announced it will be at the 2019 Milan Design Week, the world’s largest design exhibition.
Showcasing the Honda e Prototype and the connected lifestyle at the centre of the model’s design ethos, Honda will be based in the Tortona design district of Milan for the duration.
This will be the first public appearance of the model since its world premiere at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show earlier this month. The car previews Honda’s first mass production batter...y electric vehicle for the European market and will go on sale later this year.
The exhibit, themed as the “Honda experience - Casa Connessa Tortona”, will present an environment inspired by the design concept of the Honda e Prototype. It will include an immersive experience and visual collaborations with selected partners.
Phil Webb, head of car at Honda UK, commented: “With a new design direction for a wholly new car, the Milan Design Week was the perfect opportunity to demonstrate Honda’s ongoing commitment to the future of car design – and the new Honda e Prototype is a complete step change when it comes to Honda’s design language.”
The teaser image provides a sneak preview of Honda’s exhibit highlighting the “Tree of Energy” central to its design.

So I am not a huge fan of car salesmen that pounce on you the minute you step onto the forecourt. I had been to a few garages with no idea what I really wanted as soon as someone starts being pushy and all smiley smiley I run a mile . I came to the Honda garage in Peterborough and Josh Chapman came over, I found him helpful and knowledgable without being all smiley and false. He pointed me in the direction of a Honda civic with only 2000 miles on the clockand yep! I was sold. Very happy with my purchase and thankyou Josh for all your time spent and support. Honda Peterborough is very lucky to have you.a very satisfied customer Tina Cowling

What they quote vs what they then ask you to pay on arrival are miles apart.

An extra £110 more than what was agreed isn't acceptable.

Terrible service received when purchasing a vehicle. I will be writing a formal letter of complaint in due course. I was over charged on the screen price, vehicle was not correctly prepared and had faults. I was told it came with 5 services, the dealer used one before I even received the vehicle. Not called back when told I would be. Grave concerns over serious potential breaches of the Data Protection Act.

My elderly parents have been marshall honda scarborough customers for many years with a honda car each until recently, they now have one honda on motorbility. Today they had a puncture at the local hospital (where they were as they are both unwell and in their 80's) they took the car into the scarborough branch where they are known, a nail was found and it was repaired with a new tyre. The garage then asked for payment, but as they are motability customers they do not pay. So they were then told that they would have to go to quick fit for the repair and the garage proceeded to take off the new tyre that they had put on and put the old one back on with the puncture and sent them on their way. I think this is absolutely disgusting behaviour, it was the garages mistake to repair it and to then take off the new tyre and send them away is awful. Where is good customer service to loyal customers that have spent 10s of thousands of pounds with them over the years. This seriously needs looking into. As you can imagine they were very upset by the whole ordeal.

I have recently bought a 1 year old CRV from Marshall Harrogate. It suffers with continual brake squeal. I have now been informed this is a characteristic of Honda cars and a "feature" on several other models. I would recommend avoiding at all costs unless you enjoy your ears being assaulted every time you drive.

Do not ever buy or even go to Marshall Honda Peterborough. No one there has any idea of what is going on. I will post full official email complaint tomorrow. No one has yet responded to it. When you read it you will be shocked. And it was a brand new car!!

Marshall’s Harrogate service / repairs have in my opinion just massively over charged me for what has been an awful error strewn waste of time.

And just to top it all my car still hasn’t been put right !!

That was the very last time I use this company. I have been given sub standard work at premium price, been offered no more than a half heated apology and was “ given “ 12 months Honda assistance . Thanks I have roadside assistance with my bank so that gesture is worth nothing !

Oh and my car still apparently has issues with a sensor, didn’t put it right but nice to know. I’m sure when I booked my car in this was one of the things I told you to resolve 😡😡😡😡 !!!!!!!

I want a full refund ... come on Marshall’s Honda one of your senior management should be able to do something , I’m not holding my breath though........

Brought an approved used Civic from Peterborough. Was back there within a week.....coolant below the min level and white residue under the bonnet which I was told was salt (no apology or solution offered). Approved cars are meant to be thoroughly checked are they?



Back again after 2 1/2-3 months, sound on accelerating that I was told by the technician was normal sound from the gearbox as the car heated up. A first for me. Few weeks later, brakes squealing and sound like they are catching. Best they can offer is to look at the car 6 weeks plus later.



They have a complete no care attitude once they have your money in my experience. My first car and last car from this garage and Marshalls group, considering complaining to Honda UK as this has put me off the brand. No approved, checked, etc 13 reg car with 25-30k miles should be having these problems, how can I trust you to service my car now?

Bought a used car from Honda Marshall, Mountsorrell, 4 days later the battery fails, no apology and refusal to pay for replacement battery despite independent RAC report confirming it needed replacing. Only agreed to pay for battery after threat of returning the car for a full refund and making an official complaint.



The final straw was when I went to pick up the cheque in person, they started to quibble the cost of the replacement battery so I have made an official complaint to Honda UK about their pathetic behaviour.

Marshall’s Harrogate service / repairs have in my opinion just massively over charged me for what has been an awful error strewn waste of time.

And just to top it all my car still hasn’t been put right !!

That was the very last time I use this company. I have been given sub standard work at premium price, been offered no more than a half heated apology and was “ given “ 12 months Honda assistance . Thanks I have roadside assistance with my bank so that gesture is worth nothing !

Oh and my car still apparently has issues with a sensor, didn’t put it right but nice to know. I’m sure when I booked my car in this was one of the things I told you to resolve 😡😡😡😡 !!!!!!!

I want a full refund ... come on Marshall’s Honda one of your senior management should be able to do something , I’m not holding my breath though........

Brought an approved used Civic from Peterborough. Was back there within a week.....coolant below the min level and white residue under the bonnet which I was told was salt (no apology or solution offered). Approved cars are meant to be thoroughly checked are they?



Back again after 2 1/2-3 months, sound on accelerating that I was told by the technician was normal sound from the gearbox as the car heated up. A first for me. Few weeks later, brakes squealing and sound like they are catching. Best they can offer is to look at the car 6 weeks plus later.



They have a complete no care attitude once they have your money in my experience. My first car and last car from this garage and Marshalls group, considering complaining to Honda UK as this has put me off the brand. No approved, checked, etc 13 reg car with 25-30k miles should be having these problems, how can I trust you to service my car now?

Bought a used car from Honda Marshall, Mountsorrell, 4 days later the battery fails, no apology and refusal to pay for replacement battery despite independent RAC report confirming it needed replacing. Only agreed to pay for battery after threat of returning the car for a full refund and making an official complaint.



The final straw was when I went to pick up the cheque in person, they started to quibble the cost of the replacement battery so I have made an official complaint to Honda UK about their pathetic behaviour.
