Fantastic watch repair service. Team kept me fully informed about estimate and expected completion date. Quality craftsmanship and service.

Nothing is too much trouble and very reasonable prices. Very knowledgeable and helpful too.

Fast service on a watch repair and a great price.

A hidden gem, Martin has carried out every repair possible on multiple watches. Had watches posted to London with no issues. Most recent visit 25/5/17 had on the spot service. I travel 400 miles to get work done here- service, quality, price and personal touch can't be argued with.

I had seen some good reviews online so took my Rolex watch in for a service last year. I was quoted for a full service and paid less than it would have cost to have sent it to Rolex. I thought I was getting a good deal using Martins but It turns out that with the benefit of hindsight, I made a big mistake.

I was charged £500 for the service and all was well with the watch until it stopped keeping good time 11 months latter. No problem I thought, the watch has a 12 months warranty so just take it back to the shop and they will fix it. When I went into the shop Martin could hardly look me in the eye, the female assistant was surly bordering on rude and it seemed to me that he could not get me out of the shop fast enough. A very different approach compared to his warm and friendly manner with the customer in front of me, booking in a watch for a battery replacement! I Suppose he was looking for a sale from them and I looked like I was going to be a warranty repair so nothing in it for him, or so I thought. I was promised they would investigate and they would get back to me.

I did not hear back from them so after 3 weeks I sent him several chasing e-mails and eventually was told that the issue was a broken part in the mechanism. I was also informed that this must have happened after the service and was caused by me. The issue could have only happened when the watch was hit or dropped whilst in my care. He now wanted a further £300 from me to fix it, which was laughingly referred to as a cheaper repair because he had no need to service it again given it was done only last year!

Needless to say the watch had never left my wrist and at no point was it ever hit, dropped or in any way ill cared for. I have had the watch for 16 years and it has never had any issues at all. Funny that after all of this time on my wrist, and so soon after Martins service, the watch now needed an expensive major repair.

I have very grave misgivings to the quality of workmanship that my watch recieved and now face another bill to repair it when I manage to find the funds to take it to a reputable watchmaker. This coupled with the lamentably poor customer experience I had, means that could never recommend this business to anyone looking to get a watch serviced. Overal I have come away with a very bitter taste in my mouth.

When funds allow I will be getting the watch assessed by a qualified professional to see what has went wrong in this case and will follow up this review with their findings.

If you care about your timepiece then I would recommend you stay away, I have no trust in the skills and the customer service I received was truly awful.

Following information on site that the premises were open today (Wednesday 04 Jan) I took my clock for repair this morning to find the place shut with a notice that reopening would be on 18 January 2017. Suggest that owners consider potential customers and post accurate information on site. Very disappointed.
