No community museum without a community - and that's where you come in β˜€οΈ
Come along on Wednesday to talk with us about the future of Maryhill Museum and how we plan to secure the local heritage of Maryhill, as well as widening community participation πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦
We would particularly welcome residents from the area, those who have lived here for a number of years but have since moved away, and those who worked in the area's heavy industry.

We need your help!
We are currently trying to secure funding to ensure that our plans for Maryhill Museum can go ahead. We want to ensure that the rich and vibrant social history of the area is preserved. However, funders require us to have 5% of our costs in place before they step in! If you can spare a little to help make this project happen then please donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/m aryhillmuseum We know that with your help we can ensure that the history of our community is safeguarded for future generations.

Around 1 in every 350 adults in the UK has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Parkinson's is a neurological disease, where brain cells over time stop functioning well enough to produce the chemical dopamine, and today is Worlds Parkinson's Day. We're therefore lighting up our premises to raise awareness for Parkinson's UK #LightUpScotlandForParkinsons πŸ’‘

It's last orders at The Clansman tonight as the LAST EVER episode of Still Game airs at 10pm.
The beloved sitcom was partly filmed in our very own Maryhill and we were proud to host the cast and the BBC at Maryhill Burgh Halls over the weekend.
In honour of their visit ,our museum was subject to a graffiti makeover. You can also support Craiglang (we mean Maryhill) Museum by following the link below:

We're so excited to be hosting @BBC's Still Game: That's Plenty tonight, to celebrate the end of the show 'Still Game'. The show is Scotland's longest-running sitcom and plays in the fictional town of Craiglang - and mainly filmed in our very own Maryhill 😎

🌷This International Women's Day we're ready to celebrate both past accomplishments, and the difficulties women have gone through 🌷
The history of Maryhill is full of women: From heiress Mary Hill of Gairbraid, who gave her name to the area, to the women who staged the riots that finally shut down the Glasgow Magdalene Institution πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ
To hear more, sign up for one of our free New Women of Maryhill tours on our website http://www.maryhillburghhalls.org.uk/buil ding-tours or come in and see our stained glass depicting the working women of the time.

We've been working with Glasgow Museums recently for an exciting project (watch this space for more news). They host some excellent events relating to the artwork in their collections. Like this one: a chance not to be missed!
