Congratulations to our brand new vet nurses, Nicola and Claire, who recently graduated at Glasgow UniversityŌĆÖs Bute Hall after two years of studying and work placements with us. Nicola notably achieved the highest mark in the final examinations. Well done to both!
WeŌĆÖre delighted that they will continue to work with us as fully-fledged RVNs, and we wish them a long and successful career.

YouŌĆÖre more likely to buy an illegally bred puppy than you think. Research shows that only 24% of Scots buy from an approved breeder and 1 in 4 (25%) consider using an online advert or social media to buy a puppy, where a large majority of illegally bred puppies are sold.
It's estimated that 1 in 3 illegally bred pups get sick or die in the first year. If youŌĆÖre buying a puppy, itŌĆÖs essential that you do your homework.
You can arrange a completely FREE prepurchase consultatio...n with one of our qualified vet nurses to talk about buying a puppy or any pet. Call us on 01290 550452.

Seven year-old Poppy, a young client of ours, heard about a poor neglected rabbit ¤śó.
Having pet rabbits of her own, she decided to make this poster about how to look after them properly. Well done Poppy, we love it!

Happy Friday everyone!

We're still seeing cases of fleas and flea allergy dermatitis. After the warm and dry summer, flea populations have built up and now the cooler weather encourages them into houses!
Please keep treating pets regularly with reliable flea products. Ask us for advice on safe effective products.

Say hello to Lottie our newest member of our Pet Health Club.

This rating is based on 10+ years and around approximately 30 + visits to the Mauchline branch over that period.

The majority of the time for ŌĆśroutine' visits the service has always been good.

However, on occasions when matters get complicated or things have gone wrong with one of our dogs the advice provided has been exceptional.

There have been a couple of complex operations (removing a tumour from a difficult area), and other difficult to detect problems which have been resolved successfully.

Costs have always been explained up front and have been fair value for the advice, effort and excellent service provided.

ItŌĆÖs not the closest vet to where we live, but in my view definitely worth the journey.

User

The best vet practice in Ayrshire by a long shot , have been with them for over 20 years and drive past 4 other vets to use them , we have a variety of animals , dogs, cats ,pigs, sheep , horses , these guys are brilliant !

User

Thank you to Dr Jim Garven, the staff at Mauchline and Kilmarnock for taking such good care of our precious Lily and making her better.

User

Sadly we had to make the heartbreaking decision of putting our beloved chocolate lab Molly to sleep last week, I would just like to take the time to thank Jim, Laura and all the rest of the staff at the surgery for all the support and care they have gave my girl over the past 6/7 weeks. It was such a difficult time for us and every staff member at the surgery was so patient with my constant questions and phone calls, thank you for all the guidance with every decision we made it was very much appreciated.

User

On Friday I had to make the hardest decision ever . To get my dads wee candy PTS at the ripe old age of 16

Jim had been seeing her for a few days but helped me make the choice that the time was right . This is a great practice my parent have been with them for over 50 years and now dad has no pets to love and care for ..... So I'm writing this with a massive thanks for the care and dignity Yous have given them through the years

Rip candy

Thanks again ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

My dog ’┐Į was recently very sick and required a lot of care. The staff and Mauchline was so kind. Receptionists were so helpful and reassuring as I need to start a claim though my pet insurance. This was a Hugh weight off my mind. Vets very attentive esp Jim. Unfortunately my dog required surgery and overnight care in Kilmarnock for a week The staff there was equally attentive. Vets called regularly with updates esp Mary-Jane. All staff were Always helpful if I called. The vets worked hard to find out what was causing her sickness. Thankfully my dog Holly made a recovery. I canŌĆÖt thank you all enough for all the care to Holly and reassurance you provided a very worried owner x

User

I had to take our wee Roxi down last night to be put to sleep and these vets were amazing even though they should have been shut they Waited on us to bring her down and was very patient and understanding I can't thank these vets enough as you have been amazing with Roxi from her very first injection as a bouncy puppy to her last one. You's have tried everything to make her better but it was not to be we are heartbroken as a family but I just want to thank you for everything last night and today as us keeping her at home was the most important thing to us..

User

I am truly sorry to say that our beloved wee Barney passed away on 14-OCt-16. Missing him so much. Thank you to Jim and all the staff at MBM Vets for all the loving care and attention he received over the years. Special thanks as well to Vet Mary Jane who did her very best to save him when he was admitted as an emergency. Mary Jane has since met with me and patiently went over all the details surrounding Barney's illness. We are truly grateful. Will love you for ever my wee Soul Mate,

Not certain why this post is showing on FB as being posted in JUN-15.

User

Honestly can't praise and thank all the vets and nurses enough for their support, hardwork and excellence. It's because of them that our boy is here today. We brought him in early Thursday morning with the worst case of poisoning the vet had seen, it was extremely close to loosing our poor boy but some how the staff were able to save him and he is now well on the way to full recovery. We were kept up to date every step of they way and they were so patient, and helpful, every time we called. Always taking time to answer any questions we had and keep our minds at rest with his progress.

We owe our boys life to them and there are no words enough to express just how thankful and grateful we are to everyone at the MBM vets (and Vets Now) in both Mauchline and Kilmarnock, they are truly worth their weight in gold.

User

Have used this vets for 15 years. They have always given top notch care and attention to our pets and when we had to let our beautiful girl go it was done with such dignity and care. CanŌĆÖt recommend them enough.
