MONDAY MOTIVATION!
This is probably my favourite and most used saying in the gym.
Attending the gym, following a plan and eating well is not easy! So many people go on about how you should just follow a plan and then you will get results! This is not always the case. Factors such as work and family can put barriers in the way and it’s how we overcome this.... Your plan firstly has to be realistic and achievable with the barriers mentioned in mind. If we don’t get this stage correct then the likely hood of succeeding becomes slim. We then need to accept that this is a job like any other and you need to treat it that way. “I have things to do tonight” and “I’ll catch up later in the week” won’t work. Your gym sessions should be a meeting like any other. If it’s in the diary then you are attending!
Yes time is a factor and one that can get the better of us. If we plan our eating we should be able to achieve at least 80% of what we have planned. Be realistic. Planning starts before you even set foot in the supermarket! Plan what meals your having for that week and go into the supermarket and get those meals. Factor in your treats and buy them too!
So if you are realistic, organised and committed you will achieve your goals!
Remember nobody said it was easy! Keep up the good work and build on a positive start to the year!😁

Set targets
As we come to the end of another week and nearing the end of January it’s important to reevaluate our goals and targets.
Have we managed to do what we said we would do?
... Achieved your objectives for January so what now?
If you have managed to stay on track this month and are starting to see and feel improvements then well done! However let’s not waste all this hard work and now make it part of your daily and weekly routine. Yes some aspects may be more challenging than others to maintain but this is why we should reassess our goals to ensure they are realistic. Most people set a goal for January so let’s now look at the next 8-10 weeks and continue a sustainable plan up till Easter.
Each session set yourself something you want to achieve! No sense trying to cover a whole range of exercises and only completing half of them correctly and efficiently. Pick a group or 4/5 exercises and do them well.
This morning I completed a run and some chest and triceps. My main goal was to complete my 5k run under 18 minutes! Job done 😀
Today you can plan your training sessions for next week.
Plan what meals you are going to eat before going to do your food shop.
I always remember being told when I was younger and attending Junior golf competitions that you should always be organised, prepared and to follow the “6 Ps”
