What glorious food, dramatic surroundings and a welcome with customer service that's second to none. Superb dining experience for anyone needing the culinary equivalent of a huge hug . From the first time we dined here a few years back , have been recommending this wonderful place to everyone wondering where to eat in Lichfield. Just the best!

Well, where to start?! I phoned up to book a table quite last minute and Mark (the owner) sorted a table out for 6 of us, plus a child no problem!

From arriving until leaving, the staff couldn’t do anymore for us. We were there for my sister in laws 30th birthday and she was made to feel very special! Complimentary drinks and then a pudding for the birthday girl with a lovely lovely birthday song performed by the staff. Our waiter, (wish I could remember his name) was spot on. He interacted with Peyton (child) at every opportunity and she absolutely loved him and he went above and beyond to make sure our evening was perfect and it was! The food looked amazing and tasted even better! Just from start to finish it was an all round wonderful night and my sister in law was chuffed to bits with her birthday celebrations!! She also told me last night that she had been to Mckenzie’s for an afternoon tea before and it was gorgeous so I’m excited to go back and try that. Thank you for helping us celebrate and thank you for the service, we will be seeing you again very soon!!



Also to make things better, my sister in law and partner are fundraisers for St Giles and seeing the posters about all of the contributions and help McKenzies have given and continue to give to St Giles made us all so happy!!

We visited McKenzies last night for the comedy evening. Awesome evening with fantastic food and drinks. Staff are top class they can't do enough for you. We will be returning for sure.

We received a lovely warm welcome as we entered the bar area, the food was perfect and the cocktails amazing, hopefully we we see you again on our next trip up from the South Coast..

We had another great time at McKenzie’s today, a really warm welcome from Mark and his team, great attention to detail and some superb dishes on the menu. The scallops were mouth watering and expertly cooked and the Sea Bass cooked to perfection. Well done team, another very satisfied customer that will visit again.

Thanks so much Mark and team for hosting our Baby Mason shower yesterday. Apologies for the drama, poor Mum to Be’s Mum broke her hand on the way � You were all very understanding and accommodating and we hope to return at a later date to resume the fun! The food as always was lovely and the staff very attentive. Thanks so much ��

My Cousin and myself visited Mckenzie’s for afternoon tea! Fab, fab, fab! Great service, lovely Freshly brewed tea and gorgeous food especially the scotch eggs!! Next time we are are going to try the beautiful steak we were shown!!!

Mark Maltby and his team always provide top service and make you feel that you’re the only customers in his restaurant. Food is always delicious and the staff are always welcoming!

Lovely warm welcome. We were given the offer of any table which was nice. The staff were all amazing, very attentive, friendly, hard working and polite. The food was lovely, especially the skin on fries. A very good choice on the menu. The rose wine I had was delicious. It was quite a busy night but not fully booked and the food and drinks flowed very well and no long waits. It was a lovely treat and will definitely be returning. Thank you to everyone working there tonight we loved it ÔøΩ

Just had a birthday brunch for 13 people including children.

Fantastic, attentive staff who couldn't do enough for us. Great food and delicious Bloody Mary's with fresh horseradish ÔøΩ definitely recommend

It was snowing hard on a late Sunday afternoon and we had 2 hours to wait for our daughter who was attending a service in the Cathedral. Walking through the town which we did not know at all, saw McKenzies on the corner and could hear lovely music coming down the stairs. On entering it was busy but slowing down from the Sunday lunchtime. The lovely waitress offered us a table by a radiator. Really impressed with the menus and free water poured for us on seating. We had Sea bass with crushed new potatoes olives and beans with a lovely light sauce with bacon. Absolutely cooked to perfection. The home made onion rings were amazing and the desserts delicious.

We will be making the trip back had a lovely two hours and the keyboard, cellist and saxophone players made fabulous background music.

I've been to Mckenzies a few times now and there's always a wonderful atmosphere. Mark and his staff are very welcoming and the steak is the the best I've had anywhere

I was asked how hot I wanted my linguini. The service was exceptional. The owner made every effort to create a special evening for us. Good food. Nice wine friendly staff. Beautiful place. Great atmosphere!

Had a lovely evening at McKenzies, stunning building, great food/wine, friendly atmosphere, Mark, Gaynor & staff were all very attentive. Had breakfast the following morning with the best sausages I have ever tasted! Well done Mark & team keep up the excellent work. X

Celebrated my 40th birthday at McKenzie's last night and had a simply wonderful evening. The service was quick, friendly and efficient; particularly impressive as there were 13 of us to serve at once. The staff were so friendly. The food was to die for and really good portion size. You won't go home hungry. The atmosphere was buzzing. Can't thank Mark and his team enough for our experience at McKenzies. Oh i nearly forgot.....the staff have beautiful singing voices!!

Brilliant New Year's Eve Party....great food well organised brilliant staff...looked after by Libby........ excellent music ....... pity about the drunks at the end..but that is the risk of a New Year's Eve party.

Will be back.

2 of my friends surprised me with afternoon tea for my birthday. Oh my it was absolutely gorgeous well presented and plenty of choice for all 3 of us. I really enjoyed the afternoon and would highly recommend McKenzie's to all my friends

We visited the restaurant for a Christmas party and thought the restaurant itself was lovely. The food and service though left a lot to be desired! The wait for food between our starter and main course was ridiculous. There appeared to be only 4 or 5 staff serving a restaurant with around 100 people. My partner had almost finished his meal before mine arrived and when it did I was so disappointed - Turkey with all the naughty bits according to the menu - 1 slice of turkey, pigs in blankets minus the blankets, 4 sprouts, 4 tiny bits of something we think might have been red carrots? No cranberry sauce and when I asked for more gravy it was just plonked down in front of me! The starter and dessert were nothing special considering the meal cost £29.95 - not even a coffee & mints to finish! Best bit of the evening - the crackers and the company we kept!

Well where do I start we went last night for a meal with family my son an I arrived first so he went to order a drink where he was asked have you been drinking my son answered no I have a brain injury instead of leaving it at that the man behind the bar continued to asked have you had a drink anywhere else today that's where I come into it telling the person who I think manages the restaurant he has a brain injury he's not drunk you would think that someone who I assume has some experience would know the difference it's ignorant people like you that makes my son stay at home rather than be accused of being drunk you say you have a duty of care but you don't I do against ignorant people like you who should no better
