Melvyn Cooper Sailing provides unique and personal dinghy and day-boat sailing tuition. It aims to improve your sailing skills and help enjoy your sailing.

Melvyn Cooper teaches many different sailing abilities, focusing on specific techniques, raising sailing skills to a high standard and building confidence. He assesses levels of experience and confidence as well as identifying areas for development. He helps sailors get to know their own boat, enabling them to relax and enjoy their sailing with confidence, whatever strength of wind or weather conditions.

Our practical approach focuses on one-to-one tuition in your own boat, teaching hands-on skills and techniques. Melvyn Cooper Sailing is totally focused on giving you more confidence on the water by improving your dinghy and dayboat sailing. Melvyn is a fully qualified RYA Dinghy Sailing Instructor with Advanced Dinghy Instructor Endorsement.

Melvyn is also an RYA Racing Coach and RS Manufacturer Approved Coaching Specialist. He has been sailing and racing single and two handed dinghies for some 40 years at club, national and international levels. He has been a member of Hayling Island Sailing Club, Chichester Harbour since 1996. Melvyn is based at Chichester Harbour, on the south coast but will travel further afield to you or your sailing club.
