tapas i thought small portions,was not what i was expecting plenty of food and very tasty,first time i have been but will be back,the sea bass was fantastic.

Went here for dinner on a spur of the moment choice. The food was excellent and was made even better from the amazing cocktails made by the barman! Great service and atmosphere, will deffinately be back!

Tapas is not top of my list but this place is awesome. Lovely setting inside Merchant Square and the best tapas food I've had. Great wine and service too.

Simply the best food and service I have had in a long time. Greatly recommended. More than satisfied. If haven't tried it... do ....you won't be disappointed .

Food was fab. The biggest and best mussels I have had in a long time. 3 dishes for £6.95 when we were in at lunchtime and this was incredible value for money. All dishes were lovely.

after a few days of my arrival and walking around Glasgow, i went it to Mercado where i had a great meal and it had a nice service it is not expansive and a really nice place to eat.

Works night out last night for drinks, all was great. We did get moved though for salsa dancing....except no-one was salsa dancing....or dancing. Very good though would recommend. Xx

Went here with a Groupon voucher and found it great value..5 tapas and wine or sangria,. Waiter who greeted us was very brusque and we felt it was due to the voucher or his Latin temperament on reading other reviews probably both..Food was lovely Sea Bass delicious and portion size enough for a main unfortunately no Sherry or the beer we wanted.. Waitress was apologetic .. Stairs going down to toilets a bit grubby but overall a good experience and we would return for lunch again.

30th of November, I was fortunate to try a tasting of the new menu. Tapas came from a variety of traditional regional specialities including Catalonia, Andalusia, Madrid, Basque, and Galician. This was not about gastronomic experimentation but about comforting and subtle flavors with a few surprises. Expect the usuals like tortilla espanola but look for the slightly left of center chestnut cream topped with crunchy bacon. Other examples: Padron peppers with a salty crunch to banana peppers with reasonable heat complemented the anchovy and black olives. Seafood and fish were on show too! Pate like tuna and cod choices on brushetta may or may not appeal to many. But there was no question about the shellfish- spiced seafood such as octopus and scallops--paired with contrasting mellow textures of potatoes married texture to flavours well. I'll certainly be back!

Took ages for us to have a food order taken, an hour in fact. Then another half hour for it to arrive. One particular waitress was exceptionally rude when we asked when we could expect our food, even suggesting she check CCTV to see when we arrived!!! Such a shame as the food was actually really tasty. Will definitely not be back. There is just no need for this kind of attitude!

Great food really bad service half the waiting staff are friendly attentive and patient the other half should be working at McD,s no groupon voucher for me paid full bucks expected a medium of manners ....waiter interrupted my conversation with a noise to let us know dinner was being served did not look the road i was on was to busy chatting with his mate reminded me of school dinner time what a waste could be a great wee place .

Went yesterday for groupon deal which I will say was good value, food was really good but real value £58 no chance, we had 5 tapas average price £5.50 and 2 glasses of wine how does that add up to £58 unless glass of wine were £15 each!!!

Moving on to staff, grumpy, not nice and came across as not liking being there.

When we finished our wine I fancied another glass so took wine list from table to have a look and thought would order 2 large glasses to be told we only have 1 kind of red wine, honestly seriously a restaurant in merchant city Square with one kind of red wine!!!!! I certainly won't be back poor service poor show.

Went here on a last min groupon Deal for myself and my mum yesterday. Service was poor, arrived and produced my voucher from my phone which I got huffed at for not printing (not everyone has a printer! That's the point of the app) anyway.. we were seated and handed the deal menu, no drinks menu or a main menu offered (we might have wished to add to our deal.) we were left just sitting, sat for at least 10 mins and then we had to ask someone to take our drinks order, met with another rude waitress who rolled her eyes that I hadn't printed the voucher and had given the other one the details. (Again I can't see I'm the only person that uses the app for these things!) Food was quick, not everything was as hot as I would have expected for just being made. Minus that, it was tasty. Bread and olives came out after the tapas which I would have expected first. Asked for the bill to pay for the extra drink ordered, was handed a bill that wasn't ours, took them longer than expected to get our actual bill. Based on the service I wouldn't be back, even if it was a cheap deal, which is a shame as the food was nice.

The waitress was lovely and very attentive. The Spanish music was fab and the toilets acceptable. The food wasn't great. All a bit bland. I've certainly never eaten anything like that in Spain 🇪🇸 thankfully didn't spend too much money as we bought a Wowcher. I wouldn't go back.

Frequently go to merchant city and thought to try Mercado for new year and was left very disappointed. The staff were actually quite rude (excluding one of the male servers behind the bar), maybe this was because they appeared to be under staffed on such a busy night. I never normally leave reviews to places but I had heard some great things about this place and my experience wasn't somewhere that I would chose to return to in the future.

Food was very good but unfortunately the service was quite slow - a few dishes (including a special) and wines werent available and then we were asked to vacate our table before we finished properly even though there were plenty unnoccupied - unreserved tables beside us.

Came yeaterday with a Groupon deal to be huffed at as " I should have printed the voucher" when you only need the scan code on your email! To then be sat down and waited ages for a drink Oder then longer for food order attitude of waiting staff was appalling and no olives or bread that we had paid for ended up getting bread 15-20 mins after we had finished our meal it took me 15 mins to get the waitress attention to ask for these her reply was "did you not get these?" Then the tapas came out at all different times not once did any one come and ask us how our meal was and if we wanted anything else! The waiting staff look like they are walking the floor checking tables but the aren't and won't even make eye contact with you. Not happy at all will not be back think you should be really look into changing your staff or giving them training on how to be poliet and might I add we weren't the one table not happy yesterday!

Went in for lunch here today. After being met by enthusiastic, friendly bar staff we were passed to the waiter. With a sigh and a grunt he showed us some table options. We already felt in conformable when he returned to slam menus onto the table. This was enough to make us leave without ordering. Very disappointed.

Booked and pre paid NYE tickets for

3 and one other girl from another group to turn up & be told "there's only two wrist bands, your getting a refund bye" absolute shocking service & the manager was so rude basically throwing money in our faces to get is out the door, thank you for ruining our new year ����
