we visited yesterday for afternoon tea, which included sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones, and cakes, plus a pot of tea, it was very nicely laid out, what couldnt eat all the cakes so we were given a box to bring them home for later, we have also visited on a few other occasions, we have also taken the dog with us when we went for lunch, she was allowed to sit in the outside seating area with us, they have water bowls at each of the tables, such a lovely wee place, we will defo visit again xx

User

We were lucky enough to find this place after a visit to the museum of flight and I'm so glad we did. Not a huge garden centre but what they do have is really nice. We had breakfast there twice and lunch twice and every meal was lovely. Their breakfasts were very tasty, the lunches were great (I'm a fan of their homemade pate!) as were the cakes.

I did see some people complain about the time it took for their food to arrive but if you want somewhere that cooks everything to order then you expect that. If you want it right away, go somewhere else! We found the staff pleasant, cheerful and well mannered. We are not sure when we will be back but we do know that if we are ever in that area again, we will be back to Merryhatton. Thank you for making our stay even more enjoyable and thank you for my bakewell slices to take away. We enjoyed them on the journey home!

My husband & I have visited Merryhatton a number of times it's a small garden centre but has good quality plants

It's was our first time in the cafe and must say their soup and scones were just so lovely and reasonably priced . Staff were very friendly and helpful look forward to our next visit

User

Lovely lunch, thanks as always to Charlie and the team. Everyone was rushed off their feet, but still cheery, and had time to chat to the customers.

It was good to see Charlie out and about spending time with the customers. We pre-booked, and we're very well looked after!

We were particularly impressed with the great choice of gluten free cakes - far better than anywhere else locally!!!!

Lovely visit to Santa with my little girl, without doubt the best Santa in the whole of Edinburgh & the Lothians. Thankyou everyone.

We love Merryhatton, and have visited for many years. Had lunches, breakfasts, or just a coffee and scone. Tip, please please get rid of the bacon, had it a few times now and its awful, so much fat. No more breakfasts for us .

User

My friend And I have been here a few times this being the second time for afternoon tea. Lovely selection but little disappointed there were no haggis balls on (which are lovely). The sausage rolls would have been better if heated. Loads of tea, and the desserts, cake etc were good. We visited the ladies and I'm afraid to say they need a lick of paint and a little bit sprucing up wouldn't go amiss. It won't put us off going back though . Laura who served us was lovely and very attentive.

User

Visited here yesterday for the 2nd time with my Mum&dad.

I have to say yesterday's visit was a disappointing to say the least.

The cafe was very busy, although it was almost 2pm,when we were at the front of the queue the lady serving started dishing up bowls of soup for other customers and disappeared through to the kitchen, when she finally served us it would've been nice if she had have apologised for keeping us waiting.

I asked for one of the open sandwiches with mushrooms which weren't available.then I asked for the other veggie option which had sundries tomatoes etc on it.then was told there was no sundried tomatoes either.i ordered the sandwich without the sundried tomatoes.after waiting for 20 minutes one of your staff members came out to tell me there was no sundried tomatoes, the staff member went back and forward a few times,he was very apologetic as none of us could understand what was going on!!

We wondered if there was an issue with your deliveries?

When the food came it was ok,what my parents had was nice but mine was a bit disappointing.

I'm glad I've been before and witnessed good customer service and tasty food;as I'm not sure I'd be back again if yesterday had been my first visit.

User

Small garden centre but nice,,went for afternoon tea ,was amazing gave the afternoon tea 5/5 but service could be much better, the girl had to ask if afternoon tea was being served(it was 2.10)!!!!!! ’┐Į’┐ĮAnd had quite a long wait for it!!!!’┐Į’┐Į

User

Garden centre fantastic, cafe? Well the lady on the counter, after being told twice, forgot to add chips to my lunch(Just a toastie) and after the 20 min wait the waitress went back to point out I had ordered chips with the toastie returned to let me know that as they hadn't charged I could pay for them now and get them.. If I hadn't already said twice then waited 20 minutes I may have did that but.. well, the waitress was pleasant and it wasn't her fault.

Customer care doesn't end when there's a screw up, that's when customer care is brought to the fore and unfortunately this time they failed.

User

Called in for a cup of tea and a biscuit tea obviously ok but service leaves a lot to be desired by girl behind the counter also lots of furry dishes on tables not been cleared .

User

Very disapppinted today. Took my in laws out for lunch both have dementia. Firstly at 12.45 the Cullen Skink was finished. We then ordered soup a plain ham sandwich and two toasties with chips and two cheese scones. After sitting 30mins waiting in the soups abd telling the parents not to eat scones as soup coming the ham sandwich and two toasties arrived with the chips. Worst toasties ever flat and cgewy. Chips cold. Still no soup! What about the soup!! None left. RAGING! Given money back for soup and two free egg mayo sandwiches. Needed more tea joined queue and stood for 15mins when waitress asked if I was waiting for cake. No want tea for them to eat scones with. Given free pot of tea. I felt heart sorry for waitress as she had to hear my wrath and kept apologising. This was extremely poor service that is caused by lack of organisation. Get food orders from people in queue then let them get their drinks so that when they sit down the meal should follow quicker. More than one person taking orders and putting up drinks. Shambles will not rush back.

User

Went in to get something to eat in the cafe where the staff werenŌĆÖt very friendly and the service was shocking, waited 30 minutes to be told it hadnŌĆÖt been been put through yet. Then told that we should have said to her earlier about the food. That WE should have asked for it to hurry up. ABSOLUTE JOKE. We eventually got our food 5 minutes after reminding them that we ordered.

User

We Usually go regularly but won't go again...food was awful did ask discreetly if was same chef to staff but she said it wasn't...and that suppliers had been changed...she just shrugged her shoulders and walked off...for the
