What a lovely meal I had last night and the staff were excellent couldn't do enough for us will definitely be back great night

Went in for a few birthday drinks with my better half, had a great night & met someone lovely people. Only downside was service for drinks was quite slow even though it wasn’t that busy! This wouldn’t put me off as I will go back in the near future. �

My partner and I had a itson voucher and have to say this is the second time we have been here, the food was delicious and good portion size we had wine with ours which wasn't that great but overall I would recommend it and will be on the look out for another deal.

I booked the private dining room for my sons christening yesterday. From my first contact with the venue the staff have been so helpful in organising everything for me.

We had such a lovely stress free day! The room was set up beautifully. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the food was amazing and service was also great!

I would definitely recommend this to others and also book to come back.

Had the good fortune to win a meal for 2 at Metropolitan. Went last night. Prize was 2 course set menu & a bottle of wine. Got shown to a lovely table on the balcony with a view of the square. Our waiter Jamie said we could choose whatever we wanted from the a La carte menu! The steaks were lovely. Delicious food, friendly, attentive staff & a lovely setting. Will definitely be back!

Had a function here last week in the upstairs room and was so pleased with how it turned out. Roisin was so helpful right the way through all the planning and stopped at nothing to provide the perfect setting for our party. The staff were so helpful on the night and we had an absolute blast. Will definitely be back!

Booked private dining for my 40th birthday to celebrate with my lovely ladies!!! Couldn't fault a thing food was beautiful service was first class! We had such a good night and it was also a 5pm booking so it was a great deal 3 course prosecco and a fab cocktail thank you metropolitan for helping me celebrate my 40th in style 🎉😘🎉😘🎉

Received an itison voucher as a gift. Booked a table easily, turned up and table was ready for us. Made to feel welcome by staff. Food was good and served fast. Only complaint would be that staff weren’t fast at coming to take more drinks orders - even when we were sitting with empty glasses. Had a great evening.

Had a 2 course meal and bottle of wine on an itison voucher for £25 , enjoyed the meal and wine and service was good , would go back .

Food was good didn't like the waitress lifting our bottle of wine out of cooler 3 times to see how much was left very embarrassing. Atmosphere was very good.

We're in here tonight. I thought my "gin and tonic" tasted like they had forgotten to put the gin in so all my friends tasted it and agreed. My friend who bought it took it to the bar to have the barmaid pick a fight with her saying it was two thirds gone and refuse to provide a replacement.

Disappointed in the afternoon tea. It may have been an itison voucher but 2 small sandwiches each and small pot of tea between 2 is pretty mean. Extra hot water and another slice of bread costs very little! The scone was delicious, I'll give you that. Wouldn't recommend though.

I had a voucher for an afternoon tea with prosecco for two people and took my mum along today. We waited over an hour for the actual food to arrive. The food was decent enough but waiting over an hour for a teeny, tiny bit of food is ridiculous! Metropolitan is a bar I’ve always liked and went into but have been seriously put off now! One of the staff obviously realised how bad the service had been and gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco but still not good enough!! I would always grudge leaving a public post like this but sometimes they’re the only way someone will actually notice or pick up on anything!

Hmmm to be honest I was disappointed with the afternoon tea ... 4 small sandwiches between 2 people ?! we complained and got another plate but the fillings nothing that was advertised in the Itison Deal, the Scones were like Rock Cakes, staff were very apologetic but really I expected a lot better

Didn’t get a chance to like it. Popped in for wee post dinner drink and it was fairly busy. Quite a few tables with reserved from 8pm. on them. It was 7:05pm. We asked a waiter if we could use one of them for a short while to have a drink. He checked and we were told no problem but could they have the table back by 7:40. We happily agreed, sat down and sorted our drinks order. Then over came the table arranger. I need to set this table he says. We explained we had spoken to bar staff and we would leave at 7:40 to give him time to set up. It was a very small table for two.!! He wanted to know who I spoke to then said, well no I need to get set up. 55mins to set a table for two? I could set a table for 8 AND cook the dinner in that time. We left, went to bar 91 and had a lovely time. Also watched the waiter set a table for 4 in 30 seconds.

Booked festive afternoon tea on itison - stingiest afternoon tea Ive had. We had one slice of bread each for the sarnies which were rock hard and had clearly been sitting out all day. The cakes weren’t very nice and we were rushed away from our table just over an hour after we sat down. Wouldn’t be back. Front of house staff however, were lovely and the venue is very nice.

Really disappointed started off poorly and ended poorly!! On a short break and wanted a few cocktails, waitress was paramount to useless didnt want to talk and have a laugh with us we did try!! didnt know the menu which I must say Looked amazing and should be sold as such over all very disappointed!! sorry was really looking forward to this place unfortunately won’t be back again ��
