HYDRATION!
Hydration is one of the most important things for nutrition! Keeping yourself well hydrated and managing your hydration levels day by day goes a long way to achieving your goals. Being well hydrated is important in all types of goals but is especially important for weight loss. The first thing you must ask yourself when wanting to lose weight and looking at things nutrition wise is 'am I well hydrated?' If you are not then you firstly must bring your levels up so t...hat you are hydrated daily before looking any further at your diet.
How do I know if I am hydrated?
There are many ways to know if you are hydrated, firstly urine. You can tell by the colour of your urine if you are hydrated or not, the lighter your urine is the more hydrated you are. You can find charts online or in gyms etc so you can check this every time you visit the bathroom. Another way is, are you drinking according to the national guidelines? The national guidelines state Men should drink around 3L per day and Women 2.2L per day. This should maintain a good hydration level and sticking by this will mean you are keeping yourself hydrated. Another way is to calculate your hydration level. This is done by calculating your exercise time, bodyweight and estimated hourly sweat rate. This gives you a more in depth of how much fluid is being lost via sweat and is then needed to be replaced with fluid. (if you are looking to try this process you can PM me for more information)
Hydration is hugely important to nutrition and can be over looked by many people as not too important, it is important! Dehydration can cause many effects when exercising etc but can also mean not achieving your goals! So remember to take a bottle when exercising, keep on drinking outwith and keep yourself hydrated!
