Visited to watch my teen and team mates competing in the pool. Excellent viewing from the gallery and from the cafe while having a coffee. One thing I'd change is the score board - very difficult to see the times from the cafe window as it's on the side wall and could probably do with being a 30% larger in my opinion- it's fine from seats in gallery though it's nice to get out of the warm pool surroundings for a bit to cafe.

Teen enjoys competing here - pool facilities are great

Large car park and no difficulty getting here by road (travelling from East Lothian). I sometimes think Fife missed an opportunity by not going for a 50 metre competition pool though - I'm sure they'd have brought in the revenue given the excellent location for travelling from elsewhere in Scotland.

User

Use this venue lots of times to host the Raith FFIT matches, from booking to the event the staff have always been friendly and helpful, including changing are pitch if due to water damage on the scheduled park. Facilities are fantastic and never had a complaint from any of are opponents. Thanks to all the staff and looking forward to many more matches in Glenrothes

User

Nice and clean facilities. Great choice of fitness classes available all the time . Amazing and very encouraging fitness instructors Claire Cunningham, Cameron Renwick and helpful gym instructor Michael.

The place can be very busy at times but is not a bad thing ; -)

User

My favourite place to be, great classes at perfect times to fit around work.

User

Joined up in September last year & love going to the gym here. I have signed up at other gyms in the past & went for the 1st month or 2 then not went back, but the staff here are very helpful & welcoming. They let you get on with your own thing without making you feel like your being watched but equally if you need any assistance they are happy to give advice & show you new things. Only negative thing is if you forget your pass you have to pay almost full price for a session when they have your picture on file so can verify who you are (maybe a 3 strikes rule would be good so not too many repeat offenders ).

User

I joined the gym in January 2017 and with the great help of Gennaro Barbato i have now lost just over 2 stone or 13 plus kilos in weight and down two waist sizes and on target for losing 3 stone in one year. I feel great so thanks very much to you all.

User

Signed up for a year pass for swimming. Theres been a handful of occasions were people that are not wanting to swim come into the lanes and mess around jumping in, splashing around, or sitting on the edge and the staff can clearly see that people are using the lanes to do lengths. They watch but never say anything. Apart from that the facilities are clean. Staff are friendly.

User

Michael woods is a great facility with a real positive vibe towards group fitness. How many places offer classes on a sunday night? None. One of the reasons i am a memver. But....Its a bit frustrating just now that they appear to be unable to cover classes for the sunday night people.

Its not the same without a body pump and body combat start to the week. We all fully support and understand why the main instructor cannot do classes at present so no criticism there but come on class timetable managers cant you offer something rather than nothing for the loyal sunday night attendees? Have you got this in hand?

User

Great place to go for gym and swim. Gym staff are knowledgeable and friendly and will advise on training stretching and nutrition. Plenty of blue towel and cleaning agent to keep equipment germ free. Plenty of equipment for strength and aerobic exercise. Staff are happy to instruct you in the use of. Swimming area is also in good condition with very nice staff. This is a place for all ages and abilities including disabled.

User

This is a 'Serious' sports centre. It performs its function for serious athletes very well but totally misses the mark in the 'fun' element.

There are no fun pools, water slides etc something to get youngsters into the centre in the first place and then get them to progress when they get older. You need to take the kids to Perth or Dundee for water fun, badly let's down the people of Glenrothes.

No soft play either unlike Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline.

Sport has to be engaging and fun, a. Epic Fail on this front.

User

I have a membership for the swimming pool but recently I've noticed the changing rooms are disgusting. They smell strongly of urine, dirty floors and rubbish like crisp packets lying around. This isn't a one off I go twice a week and this is turning into the norm

User

Just spent 40 minutes on the phone trying to book badminton. Got through 4 times during the 40 minutes but was hung up on each time they answered.🖓🏾

User

Too many people crammed into one lane with a man doing standing exercises in part of the lane too. Other lanes full. Very stressful. Didn't manage to swim.

User

The most useless, rude and incompetent bunch of people I've ever met work here. An organisation that should be actively encouraging people in the community to get fit use their own ignorance instead to discourage and discriminate when you don't come through the door with an already fantastic fitness level.

Felt mortified and disheartened by their staff today who decided to single me out because my fitness level wasn't good enough as far as they were concerned to be using their facilities. Thought the whole point in coming to a place like this was to improve your fitness. Apparently not.

User

Reception staff don't care about the customers and just plain not bothered! Gym staff had no time to go through forms with me and my husband for a further 30 minutes upon arriving and all we wanted to is use the gym

No a good impression at all and was seriously let down.

User

Just turned up to use the gym after having a very rare hour to myself and because I had left my card in another jacket, I wasn't allowed in the gym! Surely taking photos etc means something?? I had a purse full of I.D on me that wasn't even asked for! I haven't forgotten my card once before and have never abused my membership! Maybe you should have stricter checks for those that abuse the system rather than penalising those that don't. That is the end of my membership here.

User

If I could rate no stars I would! Every single time I have tried to use this facility I have been disappointed. Between the poor opening hours for the pool, the cold reception staff and general disorganisation of the place I would definitely not recommend the facilities for anyone. Had disappointed children far to many times! The amount of money spent on this place it SHOULD be amazing.

User

Forgot my membership card this evening and was booked in for classes went to reception but they would not issue me my tickets for my classes saying no card no entry. Tried to get me to purchase another card with no money on me. The fact my picture comes up on the screen surely you could have printed my tickets off. Went to another Fife leisure centre on the way home and was let in. Michael woods was full of lame excuses good job my membership runs out this week I won't be back. It's a shame when your looking forward to going to the gym and the staff won't even let you in whilst paying for a membership.

User

1star is 1 star to many as a person who has frequented gyms most of my life I have heard some rubbish on training and attending a gym. However my daughter went for an induction at this place today and was humiliated by a alleged gym instructor for wearing cargo pants. Now in my years at different gyms I have seen people wear combat trousers , jeans and other assortment of clothes I have even seen guys come to the gym straight from work and train in their working trousers and steel toecap boots. No where does it state that you cannot wear cargo pants. The managers answer was they were obviously not appropriate wear for a gym so it seems to me he knows nothing either as appropriate gym wear is a relative term what I think is appropriate you may think not and that is fine. If at the illustrious micheal woods centre do not want you to wear certain pieces of clothing it should be stated which it is not . It is my opinion that the manager and his poor excuse for a fitness instructor do not have a clue how to run a gym and are making up rules as they go along. As for their customer relations well humiliating someone in front of the whole gym is a definite no no she should have been taken aside and spoken to quietly how they keep members is beyond me.

Great place to go for gym and swim. Gym staff are knowledgeable and friendly and will advise on training stretching and nutrition. Plenty of blue towel and cleaning agent to keep equipment germ free. Plenty of equipment for strength and aerobic exercise. Staff are happy to instruct you in the use of. Swimming area is also in good condition with very nice staff. This is a place for all ages and abilities including disabled.
