Milarrochy Bay Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Milarrochy Bay Camping And Caravanning Club Site Description

With spectacular views over Loch Lomond, this Club campsite is great for relaxing.

The appeal of our Milarrochy Bay Club campsite has to be its location on the east shore of the stunning Loch Lomond in the Loch Lomond and Trossach’s National Park.

This tranquil campsite is popular with walkers, with the West Highland Way footpath right on the doorstep, while Ben Lomond, the highest mountain in the area, is north of the campsite near Rowardennan. Milarrochy Bay campsite will appeal to boaters and canoeists too with a long loch-side frontage with slipways for boat launching.

After a day’s walking or messing around on the water, this campsite is ideal for just sitting back and soaking up the breathtaking views across the Loch. This 150-pitch campsite welcomes all types of campers. Backpackers using the site can make use on the backpacker facility – a bonus in inclement weather.

South of the campsite in Balloch you can enjoy a guided hike from the Loch Lomond Shores Visitor Centre or follow the Sculpture Trail from Loch Lomond Shores. Hop on a water bus from here too and enjoy a wide range of cruises, some calling in at the Loch’s many islands, or hire a kayak, canoe or pedal boat. The amazing Sea Life Centre is here too and Balloch Castle and Country Park.

Learn about the Scottish folk hero Red MacGregor at the Rob Roy and Trossach’s Visitor Centre at Callendar. Rob Roy’s Cave and Bracklinn Falls are here too.

No trip to Scotland should be without a taste of its favourite tipple. East of Balloch at Blairquhosh the Glengoyne Distillery offers whisky tours and tastings.

Well run site with very clean facilities. Had the choice of pitches that overlooked the loch. Small shop that stocks most things you'll likely to need. Staff are polite and friendly and have started to make improvements to the site.

Remember as a club site there are rules to ensure that everyone's stay is enjoyable if you can accept these then you'll love the site.

Had a fantastic weekend. Facilities clean and park very safe for children. We loved waking to the bay which was only 2 minutes away and had a lovely view of the Loch from our pitch.

User

Fabulous site. We were in the Ready Camps which make life very easy. Kids loved it. Facilities are good with lots of hot water and a great location. We will be back

User

Beautiful site and gorgeous scenery.Staff very helpful-cheers Shaun

Showers are braw-hot and powerful.lovely flower displays and quirky touches.

Only things that spoilt our stay were the midgies + noisy neighbour-neither of which were anything to do with the site.

Would definitely recommend and possibly return.5☆

User

Absolutely stunning site very very friendly wardens would definitely recommend and would return in a heartbeat brilliant

User

Really nice site in a stunning location. Pitches available right next to the Loch. Facilities are good with decent showers and a wash room for dishes etc.. there's even a small shop on site. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There's a walking route to Balmaha so you can wander down to the village for a pint if you've had enough of driving for the day. Loved our stay and we'll be back in the future

User

Nice site next to the Loch. Friendly staff. Busy over the Easter break. The ground was very soggy especially for tents. Kids rushing around the site on scooters and shouting. But had a good stay. Yes, could do with another washing machine and dryer.

User

Lovely campsite, friendly staff. Turned up hoping to get a pitch, they were very accommodating and made us feel very welcome from the start, only thing that let it down was the midge infestation that ate us alive as soon as we ventured out the tent but that's due to the time of year and nothing to do with the campsite I suppose. Would visit again but maybe a different time of year.

User

Wonderful view from Loch side pitch - they could do with another washing machine as only one with one dryer. Staff very helpful and friendly - facilities slightly tired and could do with an update. Overall though a nice site, fantastic location.

We stayed over Easter weekend so had terrible weather!! The site is nice, very friendly people who work there, but the ground is sodden. Our car got stuck & we could see a few other track marks where cars had also gotten stuck.

The shower block was clean with hot water, but I had to press the button for the shower literally every 10 seconds!

The one thing that really annoyed me was we gave our neighbours (who were in a tent) our umbrella as they were standing around in the rain eating, but they packed up & left while we were out & didn't bother to return our umbrella! Not the sites fault, but I'm hoping the people who did this read this review! Kinda puts me off doing any more good deeds!!

We stayed here for a weekend away and to climb Ben Lomond. The site is well situated for this on the east side of Loch Lomond. The staff were welcoming and helpful and it is a well run site. The facilities are clean but overdue an upgrade. The tent pitch we had was a long walk from the toilets and the ground was very stony making it hard to put in tent pegs. the pitches for hook ups are not all on the flat. The first pitch we were offered was nicer but had a big whole on the middle of it.

User

Campsite was well looked after clean and tidy staff were very friendly and helpful a place I would recommend, nice walks and close enough to Balmaha

Just wanted a look around site as went there as kids and may consider in future. Hadn't been there for years. Warden of site however very unwelcoming and suggested we should have asked him first as it was 'polite' to do so. As there were no signs asking us to do this and I am not a mind reader the sure may want to review it's signage. It would appear you can get lessons in good manners from the warden as well however I will pass on these in the future and probably just go to the sure further up the loch which is much more welcoming
