Black Friday is almost upon us. Yippee, the madness continues. In years gone by there were some pretty amazing deals. Do you remember the supermarket fights over TV's ?
Today? Well it was announced earlier that most of the Black Friday "deals" can be purchased at the same price OR CHEAPER during the year. Oh dear.
It's also only a bargain if it's something you need.
... Now here's the thing. Most retailers want to make "profit" - yes I know, many are scrambling for the Oxford Dictionary to see what that means.
Are they offering 50% OFF? Let's say you make a 30% margin and reduce that price by 25% - NOT 50% - you need to sell a whopping 500% more product just to make the same profit. Scary isn't it?

Don't mention price until you have discussed value. There is a price to be paid for getting it right, and that price is always less than what you pay for getting it wrong.
Customers who buy on price alone will NEVER be loyal or advocates of your brand, and guess what, you'll lose them on price. There's always someone cheaper.
Differentiate your business and make price secondary - it's NOT difficult to do. Unless there's something to make you stand above your competitors, then the customer will make a purchasing decision based on.... PRICE.

I couldn't understand why I can't save any documents to the cloud this morning. After checking the router and broadband I realised how stupid I'd been - look at it... there are NO CLOUDS. Doh !!!!!

Lots of talk about the woes of High Street Retailers. If councils would get serious with extortionate rates and stop being so anti car with ridiculous parking charges perhaps retail would not be in the crisis it is. Have Councils stopped to think the lost revenue as more and more retailers cease trading. Just sayin' for a friend.
