A heated exercise pool for people with conditions such as arthritis, muscular dystrophy, MS, cerebral palsy, autism, strokes. Also suitable for accident, pre- and post-surgery patients.
Moray Hydrotherapy Pool Description
What is hydrotherapy?
Hydrotherapy is a form of exercise carried out in a specially heated pool. The water is approximately 34 degrees Celsius. The combination of extra hear and the buoyancy of the water provide a relaxing medium in which pain relieving exercises can be carried out and thus improve general fitness levels. The level of exercise can be adjusted according to the age and fitness of the client and is supervised by a trained instructor or physiotherapist.

The therapeutic benefits of immersion in a heated pool include:
Improving and maintaining the range of joint movement
Helping muscles to relax
Helping to relieve pain
Reducing pressure on weight bearing joints while exercising

Who can benefit from Hydrotherapy?
Many people with conditions like arthritis, muscular dystrophy, MS, cerebral palsy, autism, as well as victims of strokes or accidents and pre & post-surgery patients. The heated pool can be used by people with physical or mental difficulties to exercise and improve their quality of life. Hydrotherapy can also be used to treat and speed recovery from sports and work related injuries. Additionally, hydrotherapy offers a great way to relax and generally promotes good health.
Charges
Initial assessment by physiotherapist £25. N. B. Please remember to bring your swimming costume.
Entry: £4. 50 Mon- Sat.
There is no charge for Carers who are required to enter the water to assist.
Entry + Use of Health Suite £5. 50 Mon –Sat
(children must be accompanied by a responsible person over 16)
Groups £40
Physiotherapist by arrangement
