Director Ruaraidh Morrison has worked for Accountancy Firms in Inverness since 2007. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2012 remained in General Accounting Practice up until starting Morrison Accountancy Limited in 2017.

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks from the filing deadline for Self Assessment Tax Returns for the year to 5 April 2017.

The Chancellor released the budget yesterday, without too many changes for the small business owner.
The Income Tax Personal Allowance is to rise to £11,850 from April 2018 (currently £11,500) and Corporation Tax will be 19% from 2017/18 through to 2019/20, with an expectation to decrease to 17% in April 2020.
The VAT Threshold will remain at £85,000 for the next two years, against reports that it may have been reduced.
... The rate at which individuals pay 40% tax has increased to £46,350 from £45,000, however, in Scotland the rate is currently £2,000 less than the rest of the UK. We will have to wait for the Scottish Government's Draft Budget due on 14 December to see whether the Scottish Government will increase this rate in line with the rest of the UK or not.
