Not a place to stay for a disabled person with a large electric wheel chair, there is only one disabled caravan and there was a few issues with the entrance in and out of the caravan and the surrounding grassed area (grassed part sloped making it hard to get the well chair up on rainy days) not enough turn space between the railing and door to get in and out of and there's a threshold too at the door entrance and when the walkway into the doorway is wet the wheel chair skids plus getting over the threshold at the same time making it near impossible to get in and out with out help. Having said that the caravan was a good size but right at the top of the site away from the shop.

Great spacious site close to Edinburgh attractions and a good base for exploring the South East generally. Facilities are good with a laundry, communal kitchen, TV lounge, pub serving meals and a well stocked shop.

The campsites are well maintained, quiet, and clean. We stayed in the seasonal grass pitch area for very high price per night for an area with no electrical hookup and no picnic table. I was disappointed to find that they ask for £2 per phone if you need a charge. We were on touring bicycles so charging in a car was not an option. If you want electricity in the kitchen area it was an additional £1 per 15min! We felt safe and comfortable, but for the base price they should offer more essential services.

Has everything you need facility wise, one of the shower / toilet blocks could do with some sprucing up as the shower heads were blocked and shower controls faulty but another block was great. Only down side is roughly two thirds of the site are on and slight slope which when camping was frustrating on times , alot of the motor home all had chokes to even tho slope I side so of you have not got some but some would be of use here. Great transport links into Edinburgh via bus with an all day ticket which last uptown 12 midnight costing £4 and bus stop not far walk from camp site, definitely use the Google maps app and select bus as method of transport to find out which bus you need and where from and what time it made traveling around Edinburgh so easy I was very surprised and don't use buses so had no idea.

We stayed for 3 nights in our own caravan and a seperate tent. We had 2 cars and were 4 adults. There is one star for a fine location in a lovely city. But it is so overpriced that I would not recommend it. Cost us almost £200. When the price is so high you expect perfect toilets and showers but they were not. Most of the washbasins gave you a shower due to poor taps. On top of this the pub is just a no go. We went expecting at least a decent pub meal. But everything we got was poor and served with beer that tasted watered down.

Great place, only a couple of drawbacks, which I will list according to severity.
1. Needed a jackhammer to break the soil to put the tent pegs in.
2. There was a smell of cannabis on the site.
3. The shop only sold the green king size rizla which made it difficult to roll said cannabis.
4. Got propositioned by a woman on the site in the middle of the night.

This campsite is ideally situated approx 3 miles from Edinburgh on the main bus route which cost £1.60 into Edinburgh. The site is clean & well laid out, the shower, kitchen & washing facilities are excellent & the Stables bar is a good place to eat, drink & relax. I highly recommend the Wigwam's which are for people who cant be bothered with a tent or caravan. Check out their web site for offers.

Shame half the facilities were out of use. Neither of the toilet/shower blocks at our end of the site were in use (apparently they close over the winter months!!) The water was turned off to the dishwashing area, and also to the water filling taps. So it meant constant trips to the opposite end of the campsite to use any of the facilities we'd paid for.
Fair enough we were told the 2 toilet blocks were closed when we booked in, but not about the dishwashing area or the water taps. And why put people at that end of the park in the first place if the facilities aren't in use? There were other pitches closer to the working facilities which we could have been allocated.
The price was good and in the summer when all the facilities are open for use I would say it would be a great place to stay. The toilet and shower block which was open was clean and well equipped. But over the winter months I wouldn't recommend it.
