About Muiravonside Country Park
Muiravonside Country Park covers 170 acres of woodland and parkland and marks the start of the John Muir Way in Falkirk.
Muiravonside Country Park Description
Muiravonside Country Park is two miles south of Grangemouth and covers 170 acres of woodland and parkland.
An old country estate formerly owned by the Stirling family of Falkirk, the Park is free to access and open all-year round. There’s a lot to do with nature trails, picnic sites, play area available throughout the Park.
Visitors can follow the River Avon Heritage Trail around the Park past the historic Avon Aqueduct and see the relics of bygone industry and farming. We can also give advice and assistance to schools and groups regarding conservation planning and design.
The Park offers panoramic views, a spectacular river gorge and several relics of industrial archaeology, linked by a network of paths through a diverse ground flora. Over 90 species of bird have been recorded.
The Countryside Ranger Service was established in 1980 to maintain, manage the woodland, its walks and provide a point of contact for information.
Its other role, education, will try and steer you to experience Muiravonside and nature at its best. there are new trails, a sculpture trail and an orchard walk for 2015.
Opening hours and access
The park is open to public access 365 days a year. Vehicle access is restricted, via the main gate, to the hours of:
April-September: 8. 00am - 8. 00pm
October-March: 8. 00am - 5. 00pm
Please do not park in front of the gates out of hours, as emergency access may be required.

What a lovely place .great walk round and a lovely lunch at cafe.your soup and banana cake was fab x
What a fantastic place this is! What a difference from 15 years ago, animals are well looked after and happy and the staff at the animal bit were so friendly, offering lots of information about the animals and chatting happily with the kids! The new art in the park bit looks fab and we have a great day out everytime!!
We had a great time my Great Grand Daughter loved looking at the animals and the play park. There are lovely walks and beautiful scenery we went down to the river it was lovely so had a fab day until a thunder storm hit us
I've brought the kids and dogs here many times over the years. It is a brilliant place for the kids, they love coming and playing with the dogs and having a picnic. The cafe is brilliant as well, staff are amazing, food is excellent and the prices are great
Had a lovely day there on Sunday my little girl loved going round seeing the animals and going to the play park it wasn't to busy like most play parks it would be great if the kids could get into the vegetable garden to help as I no my little girl would love to.Hopefully we will get there a lot more during the good weather.
Great wee farm animals to stroll around and woodland walks to be had, and a good cafe for a well deserved cuppa afterwards.
Great place to visit as a family or walk the dog, its well kept with beutiful scenery. My new fav place to visit.
Great place for walking , kids park , cafe , small animal farm that the kids loved seeing , chickens , goats , pigs , highland cow etc . All outdoors and is free . Great wee place and my kids love it
Great for the whole family. Lovely walks, nice to have the small farm to wonder round and a play park which is all free. Cafe nice but closes a bit early. Only improvement would be for the play park to get a smaller slide and climbing frame for younger children.
Great for children and adults. The kids love the farm and the play area. Cheap day out for the whole family. Plenty of walks.
Great family day out, my kids are 8 & 9 and felt the play area was a bit boring but other than that it was a lovely relaxing day.
Fab park for running and dog walking and today we used it for a Canicross race and the course around its trails was amazing booked to come back in Jan 2017 too love it
Beautiful surroundings and country walks for the energetic. For those with young children the farm and its animals are a place to learn more about our local and some exotic animals. This is a place of my childhood with strong family connections to the area and I love the improvements made to the Estate and riverside. Happy memories of the past and new ones with my grandson who loves this park too.
5 mins from my house, We love this place and pop up all the time to walk our dogs.
love the play park and the animals girls had a ball but was let down by the service in the cafe staff were rude I stood for 10 mins no one serving not once did they say give us 5 mins just getting these orders out. one couple tried to speak to the members off staff to be met with a wall of silence and stared at by staff in end left with nothing !!
We love a trip to Muiravonside for the kids to see the animals and a wee go in the park. It's nice to see the improvements happening just now too.
Lovely views while walking round and my daughter loved seeing the animals. The only disappointing thing is everything shuts at 4pm which I think is a bit early especially at this time of year and it being a weekend, the car parks were still pretty full after 4 so I think that speaks volumes.
Great place for family day out with the farm close by. Highly recommend trying the feeding the animal events held at the farm.
Great for young kids, my kids loved looking at the animals and walking around the country park, we visited the play park but there wasnt much for them to go on as everything was too big for them but that didnt stop them having fun :)
