Was nice and quiet on a Monday which made for great skating and for getting back into it too. It's an old rink but I've never really had any problems. The ice is pretty great as they always keep on top of it after each session. They have a cafe which i suspect is open usually when i's a bit busier and they have plenty of vending machines + a hot drinks machine so there's food and drink always available.

Used to go all the time in the past and only stopped because of college/work commitments etc. Could never really fault it.

User

Really great experience, my second time going and second time loving it. Hats off to the Dj, superb music choices with passive aggressive mocking of the players choices. Absolutely fantastic!! :-)

User

Me and my daughter had an amazing time we will be back (possibly next week). Unfortunately we clashed into each other with only 15 minutes left. The staff were brilliant helped calm my daughter as I smacked the back of my head and needed a wee min to get up. The staff and the customers who had been at the side where all such star's. thank you all so much. And in case anyone reads this who where there we are home safe and sound thank you xx

User

Had a great time Saturday night at the skating disco wasn't as busy as I remember as a child but was still great and has made me think about goin a lot more defo feeling the burn today though xxx

User

Fantastic afternoon spent at Murrayfield Ice Rink, all staff so helpful. My daughter and her friend went from hanging on to the edges to doing twirls with some help from regular skaters and the Steward. Super friendly environment, we will definitely be going back to some of the Sunday sessions.

User

Both my boys had great time on Monday afternoon. Lewis sped round ice hockey mode & Ben got good practice for Murrayfield Open next week. Well done to the rink & steward to have sensible rules for visiting skaters

User

Absolutely love this rink !

It has so much history behind it. Compared to all the new council built ones. It's The biggest rink in the whole of the UK!

And the fact it is old and very well looked after is a bonus ! Not much has changed - correct but it's clean and very well maintained . We don't need to update everything in the world ! What's wrong with a little history !

Friday night disco 's are defo one for the 16's and unders ! Keeps them safe and off the streets !

User

General skate session wasnt to busy but staff helped my daughter (6) with her skates. My daughter loved it.

Yes its a dated arena from 1940 but as its not funded its hard to update. Its also an in expensive thing to do with the kids. Session i was at was £10 total for me and my daughter including skate hire.

User

Children's birthday treat, not all could skate. The staff were very helpful, especially the attendants on the ice, who kept a helpful eye on us and had words of encouragement and advice that sped up the learning of the kids. Shame the cafe shut for lunch.

User

We had a good time staff were lovely and friendly. Only problem was a older guy in shorts skating way to fast!! My daughter and her friend were knocked into a few time buy him and a young guy only way to describe him is he had yellow hair ! I witnessed him knock over a young lad and his sister and He didn't even stop to help them up he just laughed and skated on!! He was our only problem. People like them are intimidating for fisrt timers.

User

Not been here for years. And it's hardly changed. Staff could be a little more friendly. But once I started yapping to them as I do, they thawed a little lol. My 12 yo loved it so will def be back more often. Cafe could b a bit more,,, like a cafe. All was very limited. Toasties or pies. Instant Luke warm coffee, which I needed to ask for some coffee in my coffee as it was like warm water. And the toilets smelled really strongly of damp. And I wished the stewards would offer to help kids, like give them wee tips, my son was trying his hardest to learn how to stop. And I'm assuming the steward/stewards were the ones racing around the place showing off.

Really need to liven the place up a bit. Make it a happy place to b as all the staff looked a bit miserable. Although nice enough. One word to describe it. DULL!!!

User

It is the most unfriendly ice rink we have been to. Our son plays ice hockey so we have been to a fair few rinks and this one we always dread. The staff need to brush up on their customer service!!!

User

Away fans put into what are known as ' gold ' seats but they are poor seats. No knee room at all. I am not tall but my knees were touching the person in front. Also I knew it was going to be cold so had extra layers on and a blanket over legs. Still frozen. On a plus point the stovies were excellent and I am told the macaroni pies are too. Good view of all the ice though and nice staff. Tickets for the game turned out to be the dearest of the weekend with the gold seats and £1.50 on each ticket bought on line.

User

1st visit to a hockey game in 10 years, hasn't changed a bit. Friendly entry officials and stewards. Decent catering and toilet facilities. Good atmosphere during game. My only criticism is the roadworks on the approach but they'll be away in the future.

User

I like the sausage rolls and scotch pies in the canteen, other than that this has to be my least favourite rink in the SNL, very uncomfortable wooden seating and there always seems to be a steel girder waiting to get in between me and my view of the puck!

User

We have just arrived at the ice rink to enjoy a day with our son for his 14th birthday. There were 10 of us in total and we were waiting on another 5 turning up. We went jut inside the door to wait as its quite windy outside. We were approached by a staff member who told us we would have to wait outside until the rest had arrived. You can only go inside once you have paid. We tried to explain the situation the staff member said it didn't matter no one was allowed in until they had paid. When we asked for the managers name to make a complaint he refused to give us it. Eventually after asking several times we were giving a sales leaflet with the details and told the managers name was Mr Dunbar but no details of where to place the complaint. We are now on our way to bowling and you have now lost a lot of business! I personally wish I could give no stars as the service doesn't even deserve one! Very angry doesn't even cover it!!

User

Truly horrible, jobsworthy staff who are so petty they don't let you use the toilet even when you're about to spend £40 on tickets. I got the impression that not letting kids go to the toilet is the only power these sad men have in their lives. And actually the toilets are pretty grim anyway. Email of complaint went unanswered which pretty much sums up the lack of professionalism.

User

The staff are so pigheaded and the security guard is so evil I went in the ice rink for the first time fell 3 times and hated and was scared so I asked if I could get some money back not all but some and they still have the check to say no so bad if your planning a day out go somewhere else !

User

States suitable for 4 years and above yet no double skates or equipment to help this age group. Paid for both myself and my son and he couldn't even step foot on the ice with the single skates. When I asked if they had any other skates or anything to help him the gentleman was very rude and simply said no thats all allowed when its public skating. All the staff are so rude and unfriendly, not allowed in until the session starts so everyone standing outside in the cold while all the staff just stand and talk.
