About My Celtic Roots
Writing, history and genealogy are my passions and once I started on my family history story, I was hooked. As well as my own I have taken on many different types of family research, nothing fazes me and I leave no stone unturned.

Another great look into history through film, this time in Ireland ... 'Black 47' released in September in cinemas throughout Ireland and UK. My family roots are in Ireland living and dying through 1847 , staying or moving away from the troubles Ireland faces then and after. This will be hard watch for me, as a genealogist I know everything about my family during that time and it going to hit home more the suffering they went through . #Black47 #famine #Irishhistory
Been long awaiting this release and having the feeling its going to be the new 'Braveheart' and stir the Scots into knowing their own history .. Our own history only recently been taught in our schools and still no way enough, so it may well be adapted history, but serves such a good purpose to ignite our passions and look further into history.

Went to see this on Monday on the Mitchell Library .. Everything i have ever heard of woman's suffrage is what happened in London, we should have more access to the information on what was happening in our own towns and families. Go check it out, opened my eyes to a few things I didn't know before about their fight for votes .. #mitchelllibrary #womansvote #suffragefightforvote #freedomfighters
My favourite view from layby 76 on the A9 .. If it's on your road, stop and have a look, forever changing with the seasons and weather #A9 #Scotlandbytheroadside

Long Lost family - What happened next started back last night, its great to see how everyone is getting on after there first meeting ... Anyone who has been reunited will tell you it can be incredibly sad and opens up a lot of old and deeply buried wounds, but in the end it allows everyone to move on and forward in their life, sometimes together and sometimes not . #longlostfamily #familysreunited
