A WEE NOTE TO OUR AMAZING STAFF
We wanted to take some time away from the regular news about coronavirus, and the focus on physical health and symptoms, to think about the impact on us as workers, managers, friends, and family members in terms of our mental health. We are all no doubt feeling anxious for ourselves, for our loved ones, for colleagues, and for Supported People. There are however things we can do that will help us. They sound simple but they are very important…...
• Live well, eat well, sleep well • Get plenty fresh air and exercise • Stay connected with people: if not face to face then pick up the phone and talk to people you care about. • Manage news: stay informed but manage how much time you spend listening to the news and be aware of the impact it has on you. • Relax: be aware of what helps you to cope with stressful situations and do more of that! • Have fun; even on difficult days, find things to laugh about.
This is going to be a time when we need to come together to support each other. We will all need to be flexible and be prepared to “muck in” together to ensure that the people who use our services are safe and supported. Over the next few weeks then, let’s be there for one another, be patient with each other, and be kind.

As promised hand sanitising gel is now available to be collected from your office.
I managed to source this from a local distillery who have swapped their focus from making gin, to hand sanitiser to support local health and social care workers.
They provided it in bulk and my children helped me fill, clean and label 500 bottles at the weekend.
... The silver lining to every cloud is that it's great to see local communities pulling together is such uncertain times..........and that the sanitiser smells like gin!!
