Mygodshot Magazine Description

/ Our philosophy

A well designed product should be so good that its barely noticeable. By omitting the unnecessary, the essential factors come to the fore: the products become 'quiet, pleasing, comprehensible, and long lasting'.

However, to arrive at a product with this quality, the designer has to travel a very long and difficult path filled with questions, trials, discussion and experimentation.

The product may be simple, but the path taken to create it is highly complex for the true product designer.

~ It started with coffee ~
There’s more to drinking a cup of coffee than just getting its well needed caffeine benefits - it’s the social act of drinking a cup of coffee, similar to smoking a cigarette (with a much nicer smell though) that’s interesting : it’s taking a break from work, it’s catching up with a friend, it’s warming up on a cold morning. It’s a little pleasure that makes you happy.

Mygodshot started with a simple idea “This one (or two… or three… or) cup of coffee I have everyday should always be the best”. And the search for that perfect shot “the god shot” was on.

~ It was inspired by Edward FitzGerald ~
When FitzGerald discovered the poems of Persian poet and astronomer Omar Khayyam, he decided to translate them into English for them to reach a larger audience. It took him 2 years and he added his own personal interpretation, but the result was a timeless and beautiful book.

"Drink! for you know not whence you came nor why: drink! for you know not why you go, nor where. "

His poems and his story resonated in our ambitious hearts like a mantra : we too want to share with the world our love for the good things in life. We too want to be happy in the moment.

"Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life" E. FitzGerald (15. 1. 1859)
