And this is how I spend my weekends...🤣🤣🤣

User

3 times a week at Bannatyne, Falkirk:
Thursday 11:45 Thursday 19:30 Friday 11:25
... I take all my kit and teach mixed ability classes so suitable for everyone; male, female, neither, tall, short, young, old and any other variations you can think of! Remember too that I am also qualified to teach Pilates for people living with MS and can adapt classes accordingly with absolute discretion 😊
If you’re doing more than one class a week, either with me or somewhere else, it’s worth looking in to membership options 😊

One door closes and another door opens.
Difficult decision made, where I’ve stopped teaching Pilates at Zen2yoga in Polmont on a Thursday evening. I was finding it was limiting clinic appointments on a Thursday, particularly late afternoon / evening appointments and I was having to either turn clients away or have them wait longer than usual for an appointment.
So, Thursday clinic time is maximised once more, full clinic today & tonight and Bannatyne Health Club & Spa Falki...rk has asked me to teach an evening Pilates class with them too.
Some amazing people in Polmont have also been introduced to the wonderful benefits of Pilates and can continue to build on that.
Everyone’s a winner! 😊

Back in the classroom today...as a student! Now certified in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM).
IASTM is a simple, non-invasive form of therapy used to manipulate or mobilise soft tissue structures of the body. Various rigid tools are used to augment soft tissue examination and treatment.
... I need to complete some formalities & admin first, but will be adding this to the available treatment modalities within the next few days. As always, ALL treatment modalities used during your consultation are included in the cost of your session. Excellent standard of care, excellent treatment, excellent value 😊

Looking forward to supporting this event on Sunday. I’ll be providing free post run massage and advice to runners - it’s a great aid to recovery 😊 (I might even throw in an offer for those I treat 😝)

Great session with one of my regular clients this morning. In her 80’s, our goal is to have her moving a bit more, building strength, moving with confidence and to work on maintaining good balance. Last couple of weeks we’ve spent the session just talking about stuff - which she felt she needed to do and actually still has therapeutic benefit. Today, I asked her to show me around her back garden. An hour later, we had removed old storm broken trellis, straightened a clemati...s out, cleared out, in and around her greenhouse, filled my van for the tip and swept up. Oh, we also had an hour of beautiful sunshine and fresh air, sharing memories and talking about plants and techniques - I learned a lot! Well played, right? Movement doesn’t always have to be strictly prescribed or approached traditionally - we can move anywhere, doing anything....just let’s keep moving. Motion is lotion after all 😊

Interesting consultation with a client this week who presented with a painful elbow of about 9 months duration. They had seen an NHS physiotherapist recently who was unsure what it was so settled at the conclusion it was golfer’s elbow, due to the pain being near the medial epicondyle of the humerus. The physio applied two small strips of kinesiology tape and wished the client well. The client was not satisfied with this and was recommended by their friend to visit me to see ...if there was anything else I could come up with.
I had a thorough consultation with client which highlighted they had had surgery on another area of their elbow last summer, with recovery being in a raised arm sling with the wrist being held in a small loop. On examination, I tested for golfers elbow but the client did not test positive for that diagnosis. However, further testing highlighted short, tight and fibrous triceps brachii, particularly at the lateral head and triceps medius. It fitted with their description of the positioning of their sling, duration of wear etc.
PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS NOT A CRITICISM OF PHYSIOTHERAPISTS. Physios do a great job of physio stuff and I will often refer clients for physio when appropriate to do so.
The point I’m making is not to chase pain. Pain is a great leveller and must always be investigated. Pain at the medial epicondyle of humerus is indeed typical of golfer’s elbow but it’s not the only cause. When choosing therapy, choose wisely. As an advanced remedial therapist, I deal with soft tissue in the same way that dentists deal with teeth. You wouldn’t go to your doctor with toothache!
I am fortunate in that I have time to spend with clients. First appointments are always around 90mins to allow for thorough consultation, examination and assessment. It’s so important to have context when approaching treatment of client’s presenting complaints, particularly when they have not responded to other therapies.

Lovely way to move on a Saturday morning! Walk, jog or run.
If you can’t make it to Plean, there’s also a Parkrun in Callendar Park, Falkirk 😊

Double treatment tables in clinic today in order to treat a couple who wanted to make the best use of their time. One was having dry needling treatment for headaches (more about that later), whilst the other was having their regular remedial treatment that keeps them performing better in their sporting endeavours. Unusual way to treat although worked well for this couple’s situation today. It’s really more of an example of how flexible I can be in treatment delivery 😊

Well Vicky. What a star. After living with back pain for over 10 years, I am 100% better thanks to a couple of hours of your therapy. Can't thank you enough.

Vita really knows what she is doing. She listens and treats in an empathetic way. She also goes above and beyond in her support and has really helped me with back and neck pain. Magic hands and a very kind soul. X

Vikki provides a very thorough and professional service as Swedish masseuse, Pilates instructor too in a properly equipped and beautiful treatment room. I left feeling totally reconditioned, my stiff neck and shoulders all better. Her being a qualified medical nurse makes for an extra special therapist with keen rates. Go do yourself a favour - male or female, young or old. I hear Vittoria is now working towards a sports/remedial certificate too.

User

Very calming, reassuring massage given by someone who clearly knows and understands the human body....Vittoria works almost intuitively.....

User

Oh MyGoodness!! Having spent 7 years post spinal surgery with chronic back and muscle/nerve pain I have just had my 1st of hopefully many treatments from Vikki. I can't recommend her highly enough. Her knowledge and professionalism are second to none and I already feel a huge difference. Can't wait until my next treatment. Thanks so much. X

User

Just had a consultation with Vittoria for rotator cuff injury which has plagued me for more than a year after a wrong diagnosis. She explained very clearly what the problem was, how she would massage the muscles and surrounding areas. Gone home with exercises and much less pain and so much more movement. Very professional, approachable and knowledgeable. She really does have Magic Hands. Thank you and looking forward to next visit. Excellent practitioner.

User

I can't recommend highly enough. Dry needling therapy for trapped sciatic nerve with follow on sessions of remedial massage therapy and I'm nearly fixed.. thanks again Vikki.
