This wee Bank may not be the biggest, but I will tell you this it is the Best, I use two Branches Edinburgh George Street and Dalkeith Midlothian, the Staff at both these Branches are Superb and not many
customers of the Monster Banks could ever say the following,it is a pleasure to visit these Nationwide Branches as you know when you do you will be greeted with Respect and a Smile..

I’ve been a client of this George Street branch for over two decades and I have nothing but praise to give to these guys. From the cashiers to the front desk operator, to the mortgage advisor, be certain that they’ll try their best to help you out.
Like most of us I’ve been using internet banking for a very long time, which means that there was no need for me to get to that office personally but when my debit card got charged by a Hong Kong company (via London) for some electronic goods that were paid for but never delivered I was forced to pay them a visit for a “chargeback”. On producing all the relevant documentation supporting my case (email communication with that dodgy company asking for a refund, bank statements, etc.) the very efficient & professional front desk operator assured me that I’ll get a full refund within 10 working days (through my debit card company) … and I did…
Full marks for them; keep up the good work!!!

Great customer service and helpful staff

I have clicked one star because otherwise I can't post my review, but I am about to change banks after more than 30 years banking with the Nationwide. I cannot pay on the internet using my card, despite having more than £103000 in my current account. Seemingly there is 'nothing they can do about this' - when I say 'What can I do about this' the chap on the phone (and his supervisor) said 'I really don't know - not our problem.' This problem has been going on for several days, and no solution can be found. Not much use to me having a bank which won't honour my payments.
