The wheels keep turning. A new load to fill up the barn this morning. Busy year ahead planned already so this will be the first of many.
Quiet on social media but very busy in the roofs. This is a nice little job in the middle of Bucks. The existing roof was so badly damaged the decision was made to strip back completely and apply a new coat to timbers, incorporating the porch into the main roof. A very happy customer again and a nice shape put into this roof. Great work by the team.
We’ve been working away on The Butchers Arms in Fringford the last couple of weeks. The landlady, Pat, has been fascinated with the process and progress. With a little encouragement she made it up onto the scaffold to have a go today.
All finished on the little summerhouse. The team have worked hard this week, as always!! It all starts again on Monday!!
An interesting project, a very unusual summerhouse. We have been tasked with restoring the thatch to its former glory.
A short time lapse of today’s job, before the customer brought the tea out!
Harri enjoying the sun, putting his finishing touches onto the ridge before he starts to cut the patterns.
Don’t leave it too late to get in touch regarding repairs and maintenance to your roofs. The rain we’ve had lately has wreaked havoc. The team have been carrying out numerous patches and repairs.
We had a visit today from a potential customer, claiming “thatch envy” and requesting a quote. It’s not the first time myself and the team have heard this term in respect of our work standards. We must be doing something right.
A fabulous cottage in the Buckinghamshire countryside, currently being brought back to life by its new owners. It’s been a pleasure for the team to work for such lovely people.
The team have just finished this beautiful unspoilt pub the Red Lion in the Oxfordshire village of Stratton Audley. It’s been a pleasure to work for landlord Frank O’Neil who is so pleased with his new thatch roof.
We’ve been hard at it lately, even in this heat!
Would like to know, as you are the people who see our post, what would you like to know or see more of?
Is there something we do that you’re interested in, different stages of the roofs development, techniques we use, as well as the before and after photos?
... Any feedback welcomed.

A nice little barn renovation for the team in the heart of Buckinghamshire. The roof was stripped and thatch bats were added to help with fire protection, due to it being turned into a dwelling. Re timbered we set to work putting some lovely water reed back on.
No rest for the wicked. The next job started this morning with the team stripping off a water reed barn
Wind rain and shine, we had all that the sky could give us, bar snow. A fantastic job by the team. A big thanks to Andy for the supplies of tea, coffee, water and biscuits, a pleasure to work on your property.
The team pushed hard over the last couple of days to get thatched in for the bank holiday this weekend.
Looking at the sky it was just in time!!
Good progress this week so far, rewarded with a cuppa in the sun 👌🏼
Small but perfectly formed.
Commissioned by The Rothschild Foundation, this is set in the grounds of Waddesdon estates wedding venue, The Dairy. Having been overlooked for far too long, we were tasked with a complete overhaul. Working on a tight timescale the team managed to get it completed the day before a big wedding. Even got to meet the happy couple too.
