Now taking bookings for Mother's Day lunch, Sunday 11th March. Sittings available at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.

the staff could not do enough for us and were very accomodating, the rooms were gorgeous and all very very clean and fresh, the bad was wonderful as was breakfast, the pub itself (inn) has a warm and friendly old worldy atmosphere, will definatly be back, the food was also great and service welcoming, well recommended, xxxxx

We absolutely love it at the Nelson/ Railway pub , it's definitely a home away from home for us. Traditional old pub style and I hope it never changes! Employees are friendly and helpful. Its a must do when in the Nottingham area.

Traditional Pub with fab food. Lovely surroundings and somewhere you would call back too for a stress free drink and a chat. Love it.

Top proper pub! Great beer, good homemade food and great atmosphere. Kimberley Sessions worth a visit once a month!

This is a Local pub for local people ..... great atmosphere here, you can come here on your own and feel comfortable. Live entertainment and good food and nice bar staff. All good

The staff are very friendly, food was brilliant, I had the chicken and bacon tagliatelle and it was so tasty and the fresh crusty bread was so fresh and amazing! Thank you

Returned again after staying a few nights last year, and if anything the Nelson & Railway is even better. The staff and owners are lovely and can't do enough for you ... they also seem to be very happy which gives a great atmosphere from the moment you walk in. It's a successful local pub too, with great ales and a CAMRA pub. The food is very good and plentiful- suggest you try the specials board, and the prices won't sting your wallet. The rooms are cleaned well and fresh - and comfy beds, at a good price. Will certainly stay again...

If you are ever in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire and you need some were to stay then this is the place the landlord and his staff are out off this world the rooms and food are very good beer's to choose from cider good wines to choose from the bar with its family customers make your stay even better I just can't wait to be back

I have visited this lovely pub on several occasions and every time i have been made very welcome by all. The rooms r clean and spacious and the food is delicious. Located in a nice village with easy access to nottingham town. Would recommend to anyone !!!!

Fantastic.... Had a ride over on scooters (after Hogs Head at Awsworth wouldn't serve us....not a social gathering point apparently)... Landlord couldn't do enough for us....even got kitchen to put on chips and peas for us....

A good selection of real ales and a nice friendly welcome with good service. The room was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. If we are in need of a room again in the area we wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Please accept this as constructive criticism. I have been vegetarian for almost thirty years and I have never come across an area that caters so poorly for vegetarians. I looked at your menu on your website and was shocked to see not a single vegetarian option other than jacket potato. I think it's fantastic that you make the effort to cater for families and those with disabilities but not to cater for vegetarians in 2015?! Also I could find no other way of contacting you other than this or telephoning. I spend 40 hours a week on the phone so this was the only option. I would be very happy to make vegetarian suggestions if you're open to the idea. Please be the first in the area to bridge this gap in the market :)

Over night business trip.

The room on first impressions was of a good size and nicely decorated, the bathroom was small with plenty of mould growing in the shower cubicle. The carpet in the bedroom had clearly not seen a hoover for a while with odd bits of rubbish left from previous tenants. It is advertised as offering free wifi to guests but after several attempts to connect it was at best poor and constantly disconnected. I needed wifi for work purposes so was greatly frustrated and disappointed. The free. Breakfast was faultless and of a good size, the coffee was good unfortunately it was served in an unwashed cup but once this was pointed out it was quickly replaced. The cook seemed to double as the cleaner and after serving my breakfast went on to clean the toilets which is worrying if there are other guests wanting breakfast as I am not entirely sure the cleanliness is at the standards it should be given my findings with the room and the cup. I have stayed in nicer hotels for less money, with some basic house keeping and attention to detail this would have been a much more pleasant stay.

I looked at your menu on your website and was shocked to see not a single vegetarian option other than jacket potato. The carpet in the bedroom had clearly not seen a hoover for a while with odd bits of rubbish left from previous tenants. It is advertised as offering free wifi to guests but after several attempts to connect it was at best poor and constantly disconnected. I needed wifi for work purposes so was greatly frustrated and disappointed. The free. Breakfast was faultless and of a good size, the coffee was good unfortunately it was served in an unwashed cup but once this was pointed out it was quickly replaced. The cook seemed to double as the cleaner and after serving my breakfast went on to clean the toilets which is worrying if there are other guests wanting breakfast as I am not entirely sure the cleanliness is at the standards it should be given my findings with the room and the cup. I have stayed in nicer hotels for less money, with some basic house keeping and attention to detail this would have been a much more pleasant stay.
