The stadium opening was attended by hundreds of fans, in which Annbank played Auchinleck in the first match, which Annbank won 1-0 thanks to a goal by local boy Tommy Alexander. Annbank's oldest resident, Robert Kerr also known as Auld Rab kicked off to open the new ground.
