It’s beginning to look a lot like spring... calving is well underway and Newbiemains Simmentals, we hope this weather continues!!

🔴 Woodhall Fantastic 🔴
Woodhall fantastic out of Raceview All star and Woodhall Vivianna, one of our stock bulls who we purchased privately from the Woodhall herd in March 2016.
We’ve been delighted with the first crop of calves out fantastic. He’s leaving a great stamp on his bulls and heifers.
... His first bulls to sell last October and February have been averaging over £5500.
Pictures below are the man himself with Newbiemains Interceptor his top price bull to date at £7500 who’s just left today to Robert Farrell and his pedigree herd in Northern Ireland. We wish them all the luck with him.
Also pictured is Newbie Mains impressive the first heifer to be shown out of Fantastic last year. Definitely one to watch for the future!
We’re looking forward to the next crop coming on which seem to be improving even more from the last. Fantastic by name fantastic by nature!!

🔵🔴 Stirling Bull sales February 2019 🔴🔵
Successful few days for Newbiemains Simmentals at Stirling, picking up a 2nd prize, 3rd prize and two 4th prizes at the show on Sunday in some very strong classes.
We’re also pleased with how our bulls sold yesterday with our highest price at £7500 for Newbiemains Interceptor with the rest averaging £5375.
... Good to see bulls going far and wide with Interceptor going to Northern Ireland, Improviser going to Wales and Indiana Jones going to the judge in Orkney.

Nice rear view!! All through the inspection successfully.

We’ve got six bulls for Stirling bull sales this February. Shows this Sunday the 17th at 10:30am and sale to follow on the Monday at 12 noon.
We also got the first calves out of Skerrington Iceman this morning. A set of twin heifers out of Newbie Mains Flo. Crackers!!

All settled in at Carlisle market for the new Simmental January sale. We’ve got 6 Bulls and 4 heifers forward. Judging at 1pm with the sale to follow at 2:30. Lets go 👍🏻 Heather Pritchard Niall Goldie

Simmentals top of Average daily gain at 1.38kg per day. 👍🏻

Newbiemains Simmentals have for sale a great selection of Incalf and Maiden heifers. Many with great show potential for the coming season. Incalf heifers ran with Skerrington Iceman, who was well placed at many shows this Year.

Another good day classifying at Newbiemains Simmentals, albeit a very cold one, with all being outside. 88 cows and heifers forward, plus two stock bulls.
Cows-... 20 cows classified EX (11 first time, with 9 scoring EX multiple times).
40 cows scoring VG (31 second calvers). 7x VG 88, 18x VG87, 13 times VG 86 and 2x VG85.
7 cows scored GP(all second calvers)
Heifers- 21 heifers scored, all calved at just over two years old. 12 VG,(4x VG87, 3x VG86 and 5x VG85).
7 scored GP and 3 G.

Newbiemains Simmentals had a fantastic day at 'Stars of the Future Calf Show' on Saturday past. We took Newbiemains Interceptor and Newbiemains I'm Ur Man both in the same class. Interceptor came 1st and I'm Ur Man was 3rd. Newbiemains Interceptor went on to win Senior Male Champion and Res Overall Senior.
