Remember going here as a teenager in winter for Hot Orange or Bovril and that was a long time ago. Still go for sweeties and their ice cream which is simply the best.

I started to go here with my dad about 40 years ago, I went there with my own boy a few years back (to continue the family tradition) and it was still the same fabulous mix of friendly chat, sweets by the quarter and the best ice cream in Scotland. I live in Melbourne these days and travelled back for Christmas. A trip home wouldn't be complete without popping in for a single nugget. Looking forward to the next time I get the chance to pop in. Thanks a million.

I love Newlands Cafe. Its been there for as long as i can remember, such a huge part of the local community. The service is and always has been fantastic; such lovely friendly staff. Their food is good too but i especially love all the sweets/confectionery they sell. Some of them are hard to come by these days and its nice having a little poke bag of traditional sweeties.

I have been going to this cafe for 34 years. My children grew up getting their ice cream treat here. Wonderful ice cream and very nice family who run it.

Family come here for a treat every Friday without fail. Love the excellent traditional ice cream and sweets plus modern flavours and rare sweeties from abroad. Always a friendly welcome and great service from the perfect traditional,local,family cafe.
