Heather Barlow and Joseph Logan were at Wimbledon last week competing in the Road to Wimbledon finals after both qualifying from the West stage. Heather won her qualifying group and reached the main draw. She then went on to reach the final of the doubles, a great effort. Joseph also reached the final of the doubles but went one better winning the singles event with some great wins along the way!! 🏆🎾✅... A massive well done to both players!

Congratulations Anna Mcknight on selection for the West 9&U County Cup team. The west team won their group and now progress to the national finals. Well done to everyone!

Tennis Club Championships
The Tennis Club Championships are NOW OPEN for free online entry at the link below.

... The tournament runs predominantly from 1st – 15th September though we may play some matches at the end of August if the draw sizes are large. Matches will be scheduled so please note on your entry if there are any days you are unavailable. I will do my best to accommodate. If you are entering several events then you do need to available throughout the full fortnight.
• All the mini events (Red, Orange and Green Ball) will be played on Sunday 9th September.
• The Vets 050 Doubles will be held over 1 day on Saturday September 8th. Play will be in the afternoon.
• The Mixed Doubles will be held over 1 day on Sunday September 2nd. Play will be in the afternoon.
The closing date for entry is SUNDAY 19TH AUGUST after which date the draws and schedule will be emailed out to you and put up on the notice board.
There will be a finals day BBQ on Saturday 15th September.

The Newlands Junior Open kicked off yesterday with the u9 Orange event. Elisa Gibson beat Megan O’Brien and Daniel Stanfield beat Lucas Nolte to win the first trophies of the week. Lots of great tennis on the rest of the week and cafe open all days so why not pop down to watch and support the numerous Newlands entrants!

Congratulations to Caitlin, Jennifer and Eilidh who were selected to represent the West at Summer County Cup last week. Caitlin and Jennifer won an impressive 13 out of 15 matches, with the west finishing 5th in their group.
