It started with a book. . . . . . it turned in to a passion.
Jo from No Books Were Harmed is a full time, dedicated, no-cut, hand folding book artist based in Moray, who supplies a number of national & international retailers, private dealers & art galleries with their folded book art needs & exhibits her work at select events throughout Scotland.
With a prices ranging from £10 - £150ish and most pieces being in the the region of £15-35, I can offer something for most budgets. Private & commercial commissions are my speciality - and don't cost the earth.
I am a full time book folding artist, working from my home studio in Moray. The effects you see here are achieved by my very careful hand-folding of the individual pages of old, unwanted books. I'm very much a one trick pony, and spend my days (and nights! ) honing my art.
Myself and my pretties carry comprehensive commercial insurances (as do our cars & vans) and are available for workshops, talks & demos throughout the country.

I don’t often mention or share anything unrelated to NoBooksWereHarmed.co.uk on here. But I am saddened and sickened, and quite frankly disgusted that the Mosque in Elgin has been the subject of vile graffiti.
There’s absolutely no place in our community for absolute tw*ts who see fit to behave like this. I’m completely non-religious, but I hold respect for all places of worship, and think faith must be such a wonderful and powerful thing to have in your heart.
Absolutely abh...orrent and needless behaviour, which highlights nothing other than the fact that the perpetrator can’t spell.
Sending supportive vibes to anyone who feels directly targeted by this - which really should be everyone in the area.

Sometimes I just have to stop and take a work in progress shot. Every book reveals its own unique patterns as I fold - I like to think of it as a booky fingerprint 💓

Great getting a quick catch up with everyone from the front of their stands rather than behind my own, and I was fair tricket to finally catch Fair Trickit in the flesh, even if it was only the last song in their set 🤦🏼♀️

Today’s page was from this beautiful ruby & gold copy of Anne Frank’s Diary. Spanning the two years the young Dutch girl and her family were in hiding from the Nazis during World War II, you want to think it’s a work of fiction. Alas not.
