We won’t be open on a Saturday in Banff due to other various commitments. However we will continue to buy and sell antiques! Macduff harbour oil painting by Robert Buchan Nisbet 1857–1942. Painting circa 1890. Scottish landscape painter. Born 1st July 1857 in Edinburgh, son of a house-painter. At first apprenticed in a shipping office, but took up painting 1880, joined his brother Pollock Nisbet, already a painter in Venice then studied in Edinburgh at the Board of Manufacturers School and the R.S.A. Life Class 1882–5, and in Paris under Bouguereau. Exhibited at the R.S.A. from 1880, A.R.S.A. 1893,... R.S.A. 1902, and at the R.A. from 1888; also in Paris, Berlin, etc. R.S.W. 1887, R.I. 1892–1907; also R.B.A. and member of the Royal Belgian Watercolour Society. Founder member 1892 and second President of the Society of Scottish Artists. Painting size is 12” x 9” approx. £POA

An Ostrich egg on a Birmingham silver mount dated 1905. Standing 12” tall.

This is AS good as it gets for Scottish antiques! A pair of Scottish 18th century flint lock pistols!
One is a magnificent 18th century all steel flint lock belt pistol with rams horn butt and ball picker by Meyer and Quiller Edinburgh Circa 1780.
... The other and larger of the two is a an outstanding 18th century rams horn butt flint lock belt pistol by Thomas Murdoch of Doune. Circa 1760.

Isn’t nature amazing!! 😱 Here we have two finely formed cubes of pyrite on matrix from Navajun Rioja, Spain........ The large cube is 4cm x 4cm, the smaller one is 3cm x 3cm. It truly is amazing how these cubes have formed over millions of years!!

Open Today 12pm - 4.30pm This watercolour painting is by Alexander Ballingall circa 1885 titled “Dividing The Catch” Size 50cm x 34.5cm under glass. The location is the Hythe in Whitehills (the first of the 4 Harbour’s that Whitehills had) looking towards Craigneen and the West End.

A 1940s wooden surgeons medical examination bench with various storage drawers for holding medical instrumentation. The left side has of this fabulous piece lifts up to allow the patient to sit upright. This is the as found condition. No damage and will look superb once it has been fully cleaned. A very impressive and desirable piece. 🏥
