North Berwick Diner And Fry

Great fish and chip shop that we have visited regularly. Delicious food and we always enjoy a chat with the friendly staff. Many thanks for another yummy supper tonight!

In my view the only reason that this fish and chip shop is in business is that it has no competition. No idea what kind of fish it was but nothing like I have had. The chips were awful too. When we said we wanted salt and vinegar this consisted of a quick shake by the person serving. At that rate a bottle of vinegar would last for about a year and salt for two. The quality of the food did not match the ridiculously high price charged. I would recommend that anyone contemplating buying fish and chips from this establishment to think again. To sum up the worst fish and chips I and my partner have ever had.

Nice chippy and good food, owner even remembered us previous day when we popped into view the menu, only downside was it was bit pricey then it is in a tourist town

Fish and chips by the sea. There really is nothing tastier! I visited this chip shop with friends and god children. The food was enjoyed by all, although for me, I only had chips due to my sea-fish allergy. The chips were excellent and very enjoyable. Friends and the kids said the fish was good.

This place can get busy, and there was a little queue when I visited, but it goes very quickly and the staff are friendly fun folk.

Friendly and polite staff who make you feel very welcome. And the fish supper was out of this world.

This fish and chip shop was recommended to us. The haddock and chips were delicious if a little pricey. Batter was thin and crispy. Chips were chunky and crisp. Satff were delightful

Very overpriced for poor quality food. Awful customer service. And they pick up your food with their hands to serve it!!! This surely can't be legal? Why am I the only person commenting this? Absolutely shocking should be closed down

Doesn't accept credit/debit cards. Really??? I can pay for taxis with my phone! How, in this day and age, can a shop in a busy tourist area not take cards? So, after wandering to the far end of the high street trying to find a cash machine that doesn't charge me for my own money, I go back and wait for ages (in a small queue) to be served by one guy who looks like he's doing all the work himself while 2 other people (presumably parents?) Swan around stealing the food for the restaurant next door that's being prepared for the takeaway. Fish was just okay, very small. Chips were okay, measly portion and no forks given (pun intended). Needs revamped with more, and better, staff. Next time I'm bringing a pic-nic

We've been going there for decades now. This well run family business provides fast & friendly service whether you need a quick meal at a seat outside or prefer to sit in their adjacent restaurant. Good value for the hungry traveler, always enjoyed it.
